The Official "RFC Coaching Position" Discussion Thread

Yeah - He does it so routinely it's hard to understand how anyone would value his opinion.

There's actually been numerous times he's pumped up our prospects over the past year. He's got the long range forecasting ability of a goldfish.

:hihi So true.

Mr Whaddayouthink.

Interesting little titbit tonight on On The Couch - Mike was setting up a pump up the Dees segment based on their win over Freo [does any other journo jump on and off causes as shamelessly as this bloke?] and said "If you were a coach who had to choose between The Dees, North and Richmond who would you choose" - the inference being all 3 would nominate the Dees as the obvious choice.

Hirdy said Richmond quick as a flash to Mike's obvious surprise.

Now I know most would agree with Mike's assessment but it was an interesting call by Hird. Certainly is his own man -and a pretty interesting media performer.

Heh heh heh Millhouse "Captain Obvious" Sheahan. Is there anything more ludicrous in footy journalism than his pitiful Monday articles stating the most obvious outcomes from the weekend?

One week Carlton beat a *smile* side like Richmond and they are on the way to the top 4. The next week they lose to a top 4 side and they're overrated and have massive problems. Hang on, this week they've just beaten Port Adelaide and are the real deal!!!

Sheahan's a joke.

Yep she did say that Hinkley had his interview tonight which is the final interview. Maybe an announcement in the next few days she said.

I thought Rawlings was tonight and Hinkley later?

No not really.

I stand by it, he has no idea of anything does Brian Taylor.

A calculated guess was all it was.

He is a damn fool and thinks he is better than every other man on this planet. His head from his bottom is hard tom tell apart too mind you!

Say what you want about him but he does get good mail.....hardly a guess.

they now have to schedule the board presentation, and you would imagine the coaching sub committee need to assess the data before doing this.

March's 10 day indication looks pretty good IMO

Correct. The final two contenders will make presentations to the Board as part of the final phase. Then the sub-committee need to present their recommendation to the Board. I'd say 10 days would be the minimum.

But, what's the rush??

Assess the data?

Will the decision be made on a quantitative analysis? :hihi

Hird's obviously a fool. I mean, he rates Jackson as a very very good player.

an intersting note the kangaroos asked hinkley for a chat and he said no
Another knock back :hihi
Whats the latest scooty? Was Caro right in saying that Hinkley was interviewed last night and now the 2nd stage is complete? Mark Robinson wrote an article today and said that Rawlings was interviewed yesterday and Hinkley scheduled for Thursday.

not sure if she was right but there is a board meeting tonite coach is not supposed to be disscused
But if caro is right the final two could present tonight all four are that close its not funny anyone of them gcould win it

I reckon it looks like there is a perception in the football community that North's future is quite doubtful.

Sorry scooty but there is no way Rawlings can get the job.

Not sure where I saw it, but Hinkley would only coach a big 4 club or an interstate side.

My respect for Hinkley has just grown even more than it was. Shows a spine and intelligence to carefully pursue your opportunities and not just take any one desperately. Especially in a specialist industry where there are only 16 jobs (soon to be 17/18).
