1st goal in the 3rd to go 25pts up, by 3/4 time they were behind....Geez it's infuriating. You can 110% guarantee that any other side in the AFL would be getting the ruler run over them after a 35 point turnaround in a Prelim. But not Geelong. Instead, it's any amount of excuses and being "brave" and "gee wasn't it a great game" all in an attempt to deflect from any critical analysis of Geelong and Scott.
That Brisbane side had been pretty average for a lot of the year. They had multiple missing players with injuries, were on the road and lost their ruckman during the game. Geelong had next to zero injuries and were, during the week, the favourites. Then they bottle up a 35 point turnaround. Dangerfield and Duncan make critical errors. The Geelong backline gets overrun in the second half by the Brisbane smalls. Rhys Stanley. And so on....
But nobody wants to talk about any of that. It's all "Geelong so brave" and excuses. Whateley, Dwayne Russell, Josh Barnes, Selwood, Ling, Bartel, that salty ahole Josh Jenkins....there's just too many of them in the media controlling the narrative where Geelong is concerned.
That was a game Geelong should have put away. But didn't. And none of them want to dissect it like they would with anyone else.
Geez I hate the corrupted AFL media and Geelong. When we rise again, the one club I want us to crush the most is Geelong.
The media narrative on Scott & Geelong is quiet something for a side that has played in 10 Prelims under him & only won 3 of them. that record needs far more attention than it gets.
