Final 4. These elimination finals are a waste of time. Under this system no team finishing outside the top 4 has ever made it to the Grand Final.

Play everyone twice and whoever finishes on top is the champion!
Top 8, is revenue raising for the AFL.
The AFL would die if sydney, Footcsray, north & hawthorn made the top 4.
Hawthorn apparently have 60000 members so only 57000 people turn up to watch them play Geelong.
Clubs should have the memberships numbers audited.

John McCarthy from Collingwood .

My pick for someone who could be the 2012 Houli. I mentioned him as someone who could improve us hafway through the year.

McCarthy wins his own footy, is tough and runs hard both ways. At any other club bar Collingwood he would have played 20+ games in 2011. At 189cm, 82 kg he is the perfect size. Will be 22 in round 1 next year and is the right age to get over. Would come cheap. And would be ready to go.
