The Finals thread

Beat me to it Bob. Weren't we sniffing around him at one stage?

Heard we had an interest.

I have watched him since late last year, he has impressed me so much.

Smith, Clarke from Fremantle and John McCarthy from Collingwood were three guys I have said I would be targeting from the midway point of this year.

It's all Polo's fault.

(did he play ?)

:hihi

Adam Kingsley (Saints Assistant Coach) said Dean Polo's game was built for finals football.

So, there you go.

Thought Polo was actually one of the better Saints players.

How did we pump the Swans - they have looked terrific since our game.

Throw in Blake. Lyon did a great job with so many mediocre players, but it's over. Should've taken the Melbourne offer.

Yep. It's time for the Saints to axe and trade hard. Kosi must go (hopefully not to us).

I thought polo's game is built for the vfl

We are the stepping stone to finals footy - first Geelong in 2007 now the Swans in 2011. We caused them to have a hard look at themselves and they haven't lost since :p

Some of their young guys are really stepping up - Johnston, Smith, Parker, Reid, even a rehashed Spangher is looking alright (there's hope that they can rebuild Dan Jackson >:D)

Has he rejected the Melbourne offer? He wouldn't have been able to accept it before tonight.

Saints time is over, their downward slide has started. Their problem is exactly because of trading hard, but for other team's rejects at the expense of blooding youngsters and giving them experience. Saints played most of the season with the oldest average age list. In 2 years time how many of these 16 players will still be a round at the Saints and how are they going to replace that experience, especially with very little time into their youngsters thus far:

Next year's age: Baker 32, Blake 31, Dal Santo 28, Dempster 28, Fisher 29, Gardiner 32, Goddard 27, Gram 28, Hayes 32, Jones 28, Kosi 29, Milne 32, Montagna 28, Peake 28, Reiwoldt 29, Schneider 28.

Gone. Finished. All over.

Surely not?

Did he then say that Raph Clarke was cool under pressure?

We've all suffered 28 of 30 years with no finals, but for a team that's only won 1 GF, it makes you wonder which supporters are worse off.

If Raph Clarke was a Richmond player I would hate to see the length of his thread on PRE.

Reckon Kosi's would be longer. I know a tough call but who else in the league would enter the field outside the interchange box other than Mr awarerness himself?

If it existed in his days i reckon Richo would have managed it at least once ;D

True.
