The Dusty 300th celebration thread

The final against Geelong when he literally took on and slung several geelong players to the ground along the wing before getting that pass to Dion in the goal square

Package Inclusions

GA access to three home games, including Round 14 v Hawthorn to celebrate Dustin Martin

I know the exact moment, and also find it odd that it’s never included in his highlight reels

2011 - Round 4
Timestamp 1:14:50
Nahas with the missed high 5 60 seconds later for comedy stakes.
Just after Bruce gets with the oohhh Cotchin to Martin I like that.

That.
So many layers and elements to savour and enjoy in that short magical piece of play. It’s like watching the Mona Lisa being painted, or the Statue of David being sculpted.
The fact is was an incredible goal, in a grand final, embarrassing the cats and humiliating diverflop, you can’t ask for much more than that.
Exquisite. A masterpiece. Poetry in motion.
:)
It was like the cherry on top of the cream moment. It had everything even the bloke celebrating as Dusty kicked it.

My Favourite moment (s)
*The dont argue on Stewart
*Kicking the sealer in 17
*The Goals on the boundary against Footscary in 2020 and Hawthorn in 2018
1 in a life time footballer. Tell your kids that's the best you will ever see, now go to bed because there's never going to be another Dusty

annoying that Jack perpetuates the caveat on dusty

'The greatest <big game> player ever'

isn't it all about big games?

and if they're going to keep trotting out the caveat,

they really should anoint the 'Greatest Small Game Player ever'

shouldn't they?

what other greatest player can you be?

lose the *smile* caveat.

Dusty is the greatest player ever

Dusty is still a very good player but when you look at the highlights on this thread you can really see how much better than very good he was.
He has lost the raw power and initial breakaway speed which is understandable.
Reflecting on this 300th game and the love for Dusty it just makes me feel more than ever that he needs to stay a Tiger if he keeps playing. There is a whole generation of young Tiger supporters who idolise him and that sort of stuff is important imo.

So many highlights of the Goat.
Settled for the Anticipation of Stanley handballing too Dangerfield. Dusty steals it and shrugs off Dangerfield to kick a goal.In the 20GF.
Enjoy

Definitely my Dusty moment. My distaste for anything blue & white, particularly hoops made my life so much more enjoyable. If feeling down I only need to think of this & I'm high fiving & kicking the heels up.😉

The first JR8-Fox-X part has him telling diverflop to *smile* off...:ROFLMAO:
The sniper stewart dont argue to JR to Dion to goal is my all time favourite...was sitting about 20 m from the dont argue and I can vividly remember thinking 'the boys are totally up, we might actually win this'....such a foreign thought on the back of 37 years of we-all-know-what plus losing those EFs to north and carl.

Dusty fits into two distinct categories of elite players: the balance, awareness and delicate ball use group occupied by Pendlebury and GAJ, and the raw power group occupied by Dangerfield and Fyfe.
I can’t think of another player who rightly sits in those two elite categories.

He’s also one of two players who have had 20+P and 2+G in 3 GF’s.

And he’s one of one who have had 20+P and 2+G in 3 PF’s.

GF goat and PF goat. Rarest of rare.

And unselfish to a fault.

I haven’t seen a better footballer.

As zips mentioned earlier, the 2018 final against the dorks, Bruce Mcavaney mentions “in an impossible position…..Oh no it’s not, it’s Dusty!!!”….I remember at home yelling out DUSTY!!!, my step daughter comes running from her bedroom, what’s he done?

A few minutes later, a mate who was at the game texts, “oh dusty, you are the love of my life”

Very special is the great man
