The Blair "Which?" Project

2 years at $600k is fair for cerra and i reckon we have that 600
I would like us attack the best 21 year old ball magnet i dunno who that is and then draft
Buy 1 gun draft the rest

I'd be trying to get Hopper or Tom Green out of GWS. We're uniquely positioned with multiple draft picks this year to get a trade done. An opportunity to trade for a young gun might not present itself like this again for a while

Is Billing’s the one we are after? Not a fan personally but it’s interesting that he won’t be there next year at the Saints.

Lot of talk of ample Cap space and being able to get not one but two gun mids in.

Been bracing for a quiet trade period for a while. You dont win 3 of 4 flags and have room, especially Shai resigning which wouldn't have been cheap.

Then with Dusty and Tom taking up close to $2.5M a year for the next few years.

Not much left.

And that's OK. Maybe get a cheap FA Pig for the middle - Dunstan.

Keep CCJ. Go to the draft.

Keep contending, maybe pinch one, keep our culture, and have fun watching the next batch come through while we do.

Not sure it is high as $2.5m between Lynch and Martin. Dusty's was heavily front loaded because we had the big increase in overall cap space the first year of his contract. It was to reduce down to pretty average salary in the latter half of the contract.
Lynch started low and increased over the years. Rance leaving gave the club the ability to bring some of that salary forward. Whether did or not l don't know but we have some smart operators and their track record has been good.
I suspect we will have the cash

I reckon the way this season has unfolded with the SHocking 'anti Richmond rules', placing a premium on elite disposal, that we'll go to the draft & look to bring in certain types that we haven't drafted previously. It will be a shift in policy with an eye on the future.

I tend to agree with you Leysy. However they fact we have positioned ourselves to get two first round draft picks suggests we are looking at trading someone in with one of our first picks.

Maybe we didn't rate the players around our pick and thought we'd get a better player with a 2021 R1 pick instead? Maybe we positioned ourselves to try and trade for a top pick?

"Under the AFL's free agency mandate, if a player takes up a rival's offer and moves clubs the player must be paid under the same year-by-year terms as agreed upon in the initial deal. " Looks like those theories about Lynch's payments being re-structured following Rance's retirement aren't true.

Yeah all of the above are other possibilities as well. Interesting times ahead.

For this year maybe.

Wouldn't write off 2022 just yet.

We are bridging in some youth here at the arse end that will figure more prominently in 2022.

Stack, CCj, Junior, Ralphy and Soldo to return along with a fresher fitter list.

Next year will likely be last chance saloon unless we do pull a rabbit ir two out of the hat during this years trade draft.
Yes and no for me. I think we can give ourselves a shot at a flag for the next 2-3 years. We are plenty younger than the cats for example and they’re being talked up for this season especially and the next few beyond?
I think it’s a pretty weak field this season when ordinary sides like Melbourne, Dogs are leading the way? With a full or close to full squad to choose from, I think we’d slaughter both of those sides.
Probably get shot down for those views but just my opinion
