Agree fully,same as myself, live in Geelong and absolutely hate mid week and late Sunday games.

Yeah. I hate it. The game developed and grew into, IMO, the greatest team sport spectacle in the world without TV.
The fans always turned up and supported in droves.
Go too far away from what the fans want and the hardcore will drop off, and the sport will become only for “theatre goers” who are not loyal. Look at basketball.

2 years ago, I went to Allianz stadium in Sydney for the opening game of the A-League season. The rebuilt stadium had been opened a few weeks.
Anyway, one of the bars had happy hour before the game that ended half an hour before kickoff.
That’s the type of thing we need to get people through the door early… except the fun police will never allow it.
