the 2025 draw.

Just on our (not so traditional) start to the season again vs Carlton..are we still doing that?
Both clubs should tell the AFL to jam it given the way they've shoehorned this opening round garbage in before it.

London to a brick we'll get sent to the litter box while none of the other "Big 4" clubs do and once again be the only Big 4 club that doesn't get to play the other 3 twice.

To me, its not who we play, but when we play...

we played no Friday night games in 2024... it's like the AFL were anticipating we were going to be crap (the early season fixturing last year destroyed our season)

But it doesn't matter how crap we are, we always pull a crowd and we should always be still be handed a couple of Friday night games, especially early on.

the other 3 things i want is not NEVER, EVER be involved in "opening round" again, no Thursday night home games, and hopefully more Saturday games than Sunday games.

Selling home games is a club choice. Both S.A. clubs get a home gather game advantage against interstate oppo instead of a neutral derby. Perhaps they should be made to play at a neutral rural ground to minimise their obvious advantage.

They should have to either play each other or be forced to relocate a home game interstate.

We won't get any Friday nights, but I think a couple of Thursday nights (the first game against the Blues for a start) will be in there.

Gather Round - Dillon and Malinauskas talk like used car salesmen when sprooking it ...

“I’m thrilled we are on track to deliver two matches in the Barossa, a spectacular destination for the many visitors who will come into South Australia for this major event. This presents a unique opportunity to invite those visitors to stay longer..."

“Gather Round is the best of our game, a celebration of footy like no other,” Dillon said.
“South Australia really turns it on, and we are excited to bring fans a bigger and better experience in 2025"

the dumbness is killing me

I'd actually like to attend this round one year but they make the whole experience so bloody difficult to organise. It's all too hard & that makes it unappealing.
Spot on.
You want the late 80's, early 90"s back.
No ticket tec crap
Turn up at 2 for a 2.10 start
No lines.
Always got a seat
No lines for food
No lines for the dunny
And no lines trying to into Richmond station.
Always welcome at training No lock outs.
Ohh those days.

AFL House - All the fans hated it but lets do the Opening Round thingy again next year anyway.
This is the bit I don't understand. I don't believe it was a success in 2024 and hence what KPI sees the AFL doing it again?

Well ya could try shanks pony, if ya head off now you're sure to get there in time for the games. Alternatively you could hope to find a little Xmas envelope under the tree this year with about $2 K in it to cover your airfares n accommodation.
