This trade is certainly biting us on the arse. :hihi

Battle of which trade we are ahead on atm. Beaker or Ambling?

Got to love the Crows, they never trade, and when they finally do its a shocker

Schulz had to be moved on no doubt but that's old news. I was just pointing out our most recent trades have been very good so far.
Cameron has done superbly in the Collins, Tambling instances.

Schulz has been good at Port. Better than what the blokes we got for him have been here. They're (Port) pathetic but he's been kicking goals, tackling, chasing and working his arse off. He turned his career around. Poor bloke will probably never play finals. Port are *smile*.

Nason and Farmer are old enough to play consistent footy. Wouldn't be surprised if fans are wanting to give one of them the boot in a years time

The Crows are in no rush to bring him back.
This trade looks better with every passing week.

Polo dropped as well.

Only Schulz is bucking the trend Tooheys.

Re: Tambling [Merged]

If he was a pick in the 50's he wouldve disappeared from the AFL 3 years a go. We made the biggest mistake ever picking him in the top 5 of that year. Lets no laugh about him going to Adelaide.

Re: Tambling [Merged]

Didn't his former Manager (Nixon) say "He's looking forward to getting into a good coaching set up".
Poor Ritchie is just not up to AFL standard mentally, he doesn't care enough.

Re: PSD Target

anyone with half decent eyesight who watched a handfull of games could tell that RT was not up to AFL standard..
no stats required

Re: PSD Target

Good logic. Adelaide has noone with half decent eyesight or who've watched a handful of games? The Richmond match committee who picked him most of the year either?

Thanks for proving the point though.

But that is the moving-target of all these debates. When you can choose to define a guy with 100+ games as not being up to standard then that basically rules out 90% of the guys who have played the game. The standard becomes a 40-50 players league wide. On those sort of arguements even an All-Australian like Leon Davis some would say is not up to the standard.

Adelaide clearly needed to watch richie a little more closely before making that trade. It was obvious then & even moreso now they badly overrated his ability.

As for Richmond playing him, its obvious why. & it certainly wasn't on form.

RT played his best game ever against Adelaide. Not the first time a team has been sucked in by this and won't be the last.

I think it was more obvious that they needed to do more in terms of evaluating his attitude. It was easy enough for them to see his potential on the field given his good performance in 2009.

Re: PSD Target

one thing is sure, Tambo has impacted this club immensely so much so that even after 2 years he still commands pages and pages of rhetoric.

He was a limited footballer with big deficiencies well before they traded for him, he was a limited footballer with big deficiencies when they traded for him and he is a limited footballer with big deficiencies since they traded for him.

They overrated their system and thought they could get more out of him than we could. For all our bleating about our poor development there aren't too many who went somewhere else and played better. We have probably gotten as much as anyone could out of most of the blokes who've past through. Fiora, JON, Tambling, Meyer, Polo, Raines a lot of clubs who think they can do better than us and can't.

Was he a limited footballer with big deficiencies in 2009? If so, it's the best performance of such a player in the history of the game.

I think his problem is that if things don't go his way, he goes into his shell and sooks. On the field and off the field. It has nothing to do with a lack of talent IMO.

Re: PSD Target

i doubt tambling is a PSD target so perhaps if you guys want to discuss him you should start a Tambling thread. i dont think we have had one of those before.

Re: PSD Target

we could try and convince the crows to let him come via the PSD and then he could release lids to the midfield..... :hihi

He actually is a highly skilled footballer. It might not translate into being an effective AFL player, but you cannot deny his skill level. Heart, guts, strength, desire....yep, another matter.
