If he's injured, or recovering from an injury, I can't understand why we play him. He's not adding that much value that he's worth playing injured. Surely this is the time Beavis will be giving everyone a shot to see if they are worthy of remaining on the list come year end.

Playing Bling injured is not doing him any good or the team any good.

But maybe he's not injured and this run of games is a chance for Beavis to see what he has in Bling.

Good post Baloo. Hard to disagree with any of that.
I personally find it hard to believe he's being impaired by his injury all that much but something's definitely up because Bling's output is well down on last year.
Maybe another trip to the hypnotist is in order? :-\

Re: Tambling [Merged]

i think we all just have to realise that bling isnt going to the star we all want him to be. If he was playing in a better team such as geelong then maybe he would be a star. We just need to keep him, because he is in our best 22.

Someone put it best to me the other day.
If Tambling(fit?) is in your bottom 6 you're going to be a pretty good side.

BTW that doesn't mean he's not trade bait.

when bling has a good game, it is a very good game. he showed a glimpse with that great goal he kicked against hawthorn on sunday, like i may only be a 16 year old but ive been watching richmond for my whole life, so i know what im talking about

Hence the (?) jimbob. Last season he was top 5 B&F. Something's up.

Dunno, could be just out of form (or a good average footballer/player at best). He is playing pretty much a permanent half forward flank role this year which is not easy to play- and he is certainly not being used in the midfield rotations.

The "not fit" excuse doesn't really cut it IMO.

Good for you Jaybo and nice to see a young fella so supportive.
I am actually a Tambling fan so I hope he can turn his season around but I am worried about his start to the year.

because as Baloo said he shouldn't be playing if he is seriously hampered by it.

If he can play a team role good enough to be in the 22 (which I think he is) and he's not at risk to re-injure himself, I don't see why he wouldn't play.

If he was hampred by it, he drops from top 5 at the club B+F to possible 15th or 16th. It's a big drop, but he's still in the best 22.

Drop him for Thomson? King?

Maybe if we were a finals team he'd have to regain fitness at VFL - but I can't find a player I'd drop him for, so might as well let him build up at the top level.

One thing is for sure - I'd trust DH to drop him if he wasn't trying hard enough, so that can't be it.

*awaits DH to drop Tambling this week and make me look like a fool* :hihi

Re: Tambling [Merged]

hes obviously restricted. theres no way he missed 1 week with a hammy so dimma rested him. it makes sense as dimma has been resting players and giving them fake leg hammy and back ailments

Re: Tambling [Merged]

We have posters justifying Cotchins early season form as not being his best because he isnt fully fit, same for Cousins, posters saying Rioli is a star, just not fully fit, posters saying Browns average game a couple of weeks ago was due to him not being fully fit, yet some of these same posters dismiss the chance Tambling isnt fully fit with lines like if he is not fit dont play him etc.

It's a valid point you make Brodders.

Thats an interesting perspective.
I just dont think our current situation permits this theory.
We are desparately seeking a solid core (6-8) players that will transform our football club.

jb raises another interesting point re the difficulty playing HFF.
What does he need to do fulfil the true value in a HFF role?

That's exactly what I've had on my mind, but been unable to express. Good post :clap

Yeah, but these players you have mentioned more often than not bust their gut to get the ball and we all can see their true value in the team. ;)

Cotchin was BOG on Sunday. Rioli was BOG in his first game back a month ago. Please remind me of when Tambling was BOG this year?

He just isnt that good.
