surely we are done with him now. I don't care what number he was drafted - would he get a game at Geelong, Collingwood, St Kilda, Sydney - not a chance. Trade this year while he has some tiny bit of currency left

maybe the saints would trade raph clarke for tambling.

Re: Tambling [Merged]

he has to go to the seconds and prove him self..or be drafted/traded, whatever as he has given us nothing at all this year..we also cannot keep playing so many small bodied guys each week, someone has to go..either edwards, nahas, nason or tambling...and its tambling...id love to see him do well, but so far this year he has been utterly dissapointing

Edit - don't avoid the swear filter

Re: Tambling [Merged]

Yet another steller nothing performance today. We seriously can't keep putting 17 players out on the field every week. When will richmond act? Every player is quickly learning you don't have to earn your spot under Hardwick, its just given to you!

A bigger disaster than JON in my opinion. Get him to 100 games ,so we get 1st dibs on his kids, then pack him away to Coburg till the end of season clean out!

Re: Tambling [Merged]

kicked a great goal today but that is it....another game of lighlty jogging around following the play..

Agreed. He had 6 tackles, I must have missed most of them

Didn't stick enough of the tackles though - Hawthorn players broke through them.

I'm at a loss with Tambling. After 100 games, I don't know what his best position is or whether he has the 100% intensity; desire; hunger etc to really want to compete at this level. I don't see enough urgency.

Tambling made some excellent tackles today. Missed a few also.
Kicked a nice goal but overall another so so game from Richie unfortunately.

Re: Tambling [Merged]

id love to see him shine..he is obviously popular with the players..they all ran to him when he kicked that goal..maybe we all feel for him..we feel his pain and frustration of not delivering

Re: Tambling [Merged]

Tambos "tackles" were easily brushed aside by the Dawks.
Watched one piece of play in the 2ndq on the wing the ball was kicked to Tambo first thing he did was look who was around him then focussed on getting the ball you guessed it he fumbled.
FFS Tambo make your priority to get the ball instead of looking to see whos around you. :brickwall :brickwall :brickwall
Tambo should be trade bait at the end of the season on current form.

Re: Tambling [Merged]

Something doesn't add up.

He's playing poorly, but Hardwick still plays him. The players all like him judging by the team swamping him after his goal.

I believe in the "he's slowly working his way back from injury" excuse.

Yes he's run out of excuses... but what if a genuine excuse pops up? Maybe it's in his best interests to get 12-15 possies for the next 6 weeks, then build up to 20 possies by end of the year, before he gets all the power back in his legs.

Normally you'd expect them to drop him like we did with Morton for not being the best he can be... so from a distance either Dimma is inconsistent, or Tambling has a genuine excuse.

He's sure not getting games because he's playing well (as he and Morton did last year).

Or perhaps in part his trade value is being protected and enhanced as much as possible by playing him. I'm not saying it would be the only reason but maybe it is part of Hardwicks thinking. Certainly he would be intelligent enough to be conscious of this if he is considering unloading him at the end of the year.

Re: Tambling [Merged]

Missed the game and haven't seen the replay yet. What position did he play?

Re: Tambling [Merged]

i have read with interest over the last few years RT being compared to numerous footballers at differenty stages of their illustrious careers , well after todays game i thought i would do my own comparison .
My results , well basically if you copmpare RT with Metro trains you would find that the train should have well and truely arrived by now , but in reality , it hasnt left the shunting yard yet .
After 100 below average performances , isnt time to just cut our losses , and realise he just will not make it , i suppose maybe next year i could compared RT and the Myki ticketing system , and we know how many years we have waited for that disaster to show something .

Re: Tambling [Merged]

Funny how people are finally giving Daniel Wells credit for having a quality consistent season and he's now turned 25
