Fair enough appraisal, you should revert to your old name as support.

its looking that way, i'll give him until round 12 to get a 25 possie game and if he does i'll change to Blingand

If I was to rate Tambling's game out of 10, then he'll be receiving 4. Apart from the goal he kicked, whippeee, he got smashed in the middle in the first half. Was rotated on & off the bench a fair bit and sat on it a fair chunk in the second term.

I would assume he's had instruction from our champion coach to run with the ball when he's got the opportunity and that's OK, but in the close encounters he does too much with it. He gets caught way too often in the middle, I would suggest he offloads the ball immediately to his team mate and not hatch the bloody thing and get caught.

His workrate around the ground has a long way to go. I think the only reason he is in Richmond side is because of his Pick 4 status in the draft or otherwise he'll be at Coburg. I reckon Shane Edwards would be able to play his role much better.

Tambling is a lot quicker than Edwards. Edwards isn't even quick, period. He was a better than over half the guys out there today, easily.

Thats probably where I saw his game today; Had a golden opportunity in front of 70K people to display some of his magical & silky aboriginal skills - We only saw that once.
For the simple fact he is in the middle, thats promising. As for his workrate & support around the ground to his team mates...no excuses.

i watched ritchie real close today. i really feel for this kid. he is probably the most maligned player in the comp, seriously. its unfortunate for him because while every mistake or clanger is scrutinised heavily rarely is his good work applauded. there is unfair expectation. in reality he is a better than average 21 yo midfielder and he is developing nicely. his productivity and workrate is near where it should be but sometimes his skills let him down a bit. his skills arepoor when he is forced to kick under pressue, otherwise its ok. bling is trying to do a little too much right now. he is taking them on when sometimes first option may be better. but he is putting his head over the ball, being in the right place more often then not. his defensive skills are still not up to scratch though.

he had a career defining moment in the third quarter when he kicked that long goal. he was expected to and got the job done. i hate to think what happens to his confidence and regard in the football world if if he misses because we were up to our nuts in that game at the time. he had another servicable second half which is becoming par for the course.

not a bad effort

He's gone past deledio right now. Lids is more keen on impressing the chicks in the crowd. Just soft.

Blings is coming on just fine...most people here are to far strung up on the franklin decision......I was having a chat with NGB and the abo boys do take longer to to establish, especially through the middle, blings will com good super good in a couple of seasons time.

Blings performances are not the RFC concerns ATM, our core seniors is!!

1. Heaps of players slipped over in that part of the ground, hardly think that he could have done anything to prevent slipping.

2. This isn't the Jordan McMahon thread.

3. Deleted - Personal abuse is unnaceptable.

What about when he kicked it on the full

The bottom line is Tambling under pressure is shocking

I dont care if Tambling was taken no.4 or number 104 he is so very ordinary. He was a complete embarrassment today and he must be due a stint at Coburg. If he doesnt understand the concept of running FORWARD (and not sideways or backwards) when in possession of the ball then send him to some suburban league to learn it!

I couldnt think of 1 positive from his game today.

his number one problem is his size. Too skinny for the inside ball atm. I saw him time and again charging in and being wrapped up. Hes havng a crack but still too small

No joke, I think I'm happier with the way Tambling has impressed so far this season than just about any player. Yes he makes some mistakes, but he is in the thick of the action and the longer he stays there the sooner he will shut some people up. He hasnt put a foot wrong so far.

as someone who has been critical of RT i have seen improvement...but hell either he is trying to do to much or hasnt much football nous...

Where is that Tambling.v.Wells thread when you want it? ;)

Tambling will always be the type of player that will be brilliant one quarter and crap for the rest of the rest of the game....the player who will get 25+ possies and 3 goals one game and do nothing for the next 3 weeks.
Get used to it...and to be honest, I have no problem with that.

The problem I have is that:

* we drafted a player like this too high. To me, a top-10 draft pick is someone who will get you 20+ possies every week....will get a goal or two most weeks. Its called CONSISTENCY and something a player like Tambling and Wells will never be.
We'll be talking about his "potential" for the next 5 years and waiting for it to all click for the next 5 as well.

* fans in the outer and here on a forum like this expecting Tambling to be the sort of player that he isn't and will never be. This is NOT Tambling's fault. Aim your wrath at the recruiters and coaches who consistently draft 6-foot nothing, 70kg players and expect them to be able to play hard one-on-one footy against players who are 6'2" and 90kg.....a size that many of our players will never reach even if you put them on a diet of Happy Meals and thickshakes for the next 2 years!

I said this after Round-1....said it again last week....and will say it again now.
I reckon Lids has an injury of some sort.
Wallace seems to persist with starting him in the forward-line even though we are getting smashed at times in the middle....Lids seems to have lost some pace and we don't see him break the lines and run down the guts like we have seen in the past....and he seems to hunch over a bit when resting, similar to what Judd was doing last season with his groin injury (he also was relegated to playing in the forward line many times as well).
Maybe osteitis-pubis? :don't know

When he starts breaking those tackles and bursting towards goal an extra 6-7 times per game he will be pretty exciting.

You are the most biased supported I have ever known of. Get things in perspective.

The only problem i,ve got with Tambo THIS YEAR is his positioning at the centre bounce.Once he learns where to be and anticipate better he,ll be damaging.

Tell me again exactly why he can't become a consistent ball winner due to his size even though he's as big or bigger than at least 10 blokes who are currently among the top inside mids.

Pretty much sums up my observations.

The curve is on a steady trajectory upwards.

I've been thinking that Bling should really have done a year on a HBF.

But he hasn't. Odd.

I reckon Wallace will make a player of him.
