Talking Politics

Imagine how many more Electoral College votes Trump would have got if it the election wasn’t rigged. He would’ve won California and New York, he would’ve won every electoral college vote there is if it wasn’t for the rigged election.

And Bernie was quite scathing in his opinions and why the Democrats lost this election. Saying they “abandoned the working class people” among other criticisms.

But then the Democrat Party Chair Jaime Harrison attacked Sanders for his analysis on why they lost …Biden was a workers champion, Kamala was …

Well it doesn’t matter now. They either learn or they’ll pay again. A lesson for all political parties.
So, after being given honest feedback to some of the issues surrounding the party and some of the reasons they went so bad, the democratic leadership’s response is to put a finger in each ear, close their eyes and chant ‘lalalalalalalala’ repeatedly
Like a couple of other political parties around the world, this solution seems to work well, and then they wonder why they fail at the NEXT election

I always find it amazing when an election result comes in those who support the party or person who wins somehow take it as some sort of personal vindication or triumph.

I couldn’t care less which party rules the US but I have always been of the view that Trump should not be President for a variety of reasons. To me he is scum, a truly horrible human being.

The fact that he won the US presidential election doesn’t mean I am wrong, all that it means is that a little bit more than 50% of adult Americans who voted decided he should be President.

A few months ago the Brits chucked out the Tories on their arse, maybe they are right and the yanks are wrong?

You are assuming the anti woke, anti left, anti immigration majority of the voters would have fallen for the same rubbish again!
Let’s hope it it the start of a world wide revolt, starting here in Vic & Aust.
I'm sure there are a few more meaningless cliches you could have thrown in there- such as anti elite, anti swamp, anti weaponised judiciary, anti rigged elections.

Is that definite? I was reading that a likely scenario was they would have the White House and Senate, but not the house. Seen as the perfect storm for deadlock.

But that may have changed as more votes have come in since the article was written.
Congress…need 218 seats for a majority
Republicans currently hold 213 seats leading in another 9 seats.
Democrats currently hold 202 seats leading in another 6 seats.
Not much between any of those seats, still counting, some at 99% others at 60% counted

They need lessons in how to rig an election then. He didn’t need to. It’s a landslide.
86 more electoral roll votes, it’s a bloodbath for the Democrats, but the puppet masters will look to blame everyone else but themselves.
The first in line will be Dementia Joe. The poor old bastard is the easy target. Kamala will head back to the boondocks never to heard from again.
The Obamas, the Clinton’s and the Dem elites will groom their next puppet.

Yes there are plenty.
But they are not meaningless.
Clearly people are waking up to the leftist rubbish.

Lots of USA celebreties surely have to leave the country as stated.
Well they threatened that in 2016 but still stayed. Money means more to them than their principles.
Now there will be a huge exodus, unless they’re liars and hypocrites.

We might be able to trade some US celebrities for some PRE posters .
There would be some PRE posters who would be a good fit for The View ;) :giggle:

Not sure it was that long ago that the poms chucked the Labour party out on it's arse, n from a couple of snippets I've seen while channel surfing the foxtel. British Labour looks like it's gunna jump the *smile* out of their taxing system in a humungous big hurry, coz there's no money to pay for anything. Might get chucked back out on their arses again in short order.
Trouble with the world is that everyone expects n demands a massive handout from the Govt as soon as someone or something farts, but somehow simply expect the handouts to suddenly appear without anyone having to pay for the handout.

Rudd's not hiding from the posts he made though. He made an announcement that he will be removing them. A bit different to trying to rewrite history
Therese and Kevin might as well pack their bags.
From SBS published March 20 2024.
Donald Trump has described Australia's US ambassador Kevin Rudd as "nasty" and "not the brightest bulb".
Former US President Donald Trump says Australia’s Ambassador to the US Kevin Rudd “won’t be there long” if “he’s at all hostile” towards him.

Got no idea why the old KRuddster ever got a second crack at being P.M. of Oz let alone a diplomatic post anywhere. Just another example of the never ending snouts in the trough from the Oz political system. Round n round it goes n each generation gets a lifetime of licking the taxpayer ice cream.

According to the Polls Julia Gillard was that unpopular that the ALP faced a massive loss, so Kevin was brought back to minimise the damage.

Trump sure is a lucky bastard, he inherited a great economy from Obama and has inherited a recovering post COVID economy from Biden.

Don't stuff it up Donald.

Data show Trump didn't 'build' a great economy. He inherited it.

The average quarterly economic growth under Trump, 2.5 percent, was almost exactly what it was under Obama in the second term, 2.4 percent.

A flurry of remarkably good economic news over the past week could create a daunting mandate for whoever is elected the next U.S. president: Don’t mess it up.

Days ahead of the Nov. 5 election, inflation is expected to cool even further from its pandemic peaks, private job creation is beating estimates, pending home sales data is popping, consumer sentiment is surging toward optimism and gross domestic product is growing apace, though slightly below some expectations.

The S&P 500 is up over 50% since President Joe Biden took office in January, 2021, and 24% so far this year, according to Morning Consult.

Yeah, after the GFC all the banks and a lot of large corporations were all getting bailed out, they just expect the government to turn up with the billions when they *smile* things up.

Not that it really matters, the government can just create money. Banks create money too but they can't have negative equity, governments can.

Absolutely *smile* not. Labour here are a *smile* show - even the left are turning on them. Support for Starmer has fallen through the floor in just three months.
