Thanks for replying BR.

I had exceeded my tolerance threshold reading the pile on bile on Sydney,

and I posted a picture of a Klu klux Klan white hood. It was an exhibit in The American Museum of Natural History. A photo of a public display.

now, sure its parcelled up in my usual oblique humour,

but to deconstruct it;

I was making the following points

1. The Klan Hood is the very epitome of saying and doing nasty tings to black people, under the protection of anonymity, A bit like the internet.

2. I believe there is a strong racist element in Sydneys current treatment by the WA govt.

3. I believe there is a racist element to the vehemence of the attack on Sydney by some people on this thread

4. I believe Eddie McGuire is racist

which is where I asked the question of the mods in relation to the relative appropriateness of stuff on here.

Personally, I find pubic speculation about the factuality of a death in someones family, pretty inappropriate,

But I never reported it or demanded it be taken down, I just called it out.

If people think a picture of a KKK hood is inappropriate, they should call it out.

But do you reckon if they complained to the American Museum of Natural History, the curator would remove it from display?

I have no problem with this post and the KKK hood being moved to the rumour board, along with the blowhard gossip and racist judgements about Sydney and his family.

merry Christmas to all

That’s correct
There may well have been a valid cultural reason for him being in Northam in December. Some secondary ceremonial thing perhaps but the family's social media posts don't support that.

Sydney's current situation is not racist, its political.
Not sure if this one has been mentioned, a couple of months back a young female dentist was sentenced and subsequently gaoled in WA for breaching Covid conditions. Not held in custody.
McGowan and his cronies have pleased the majority of West Aussies though with these simplistic and myopic covid responses. Certainly not a visionary leader this one!

Given that dentist was in her surgery and treating people when she was supposed to be isolating she deserved everything she got. Including being sacked by her employers.

The dentist wasn't held in Jail leading to her court date. She didn't even turn up to the first hearing. She was only jailed after pleading guilty in court. Sydney is yet to have his case heard let alone enter a plea.

That's because she applied for and was granted bail.
As she, as a female, when supposed to be isolation is entitled to do so.
As a male Sydney is not entitled to front court to apply for bail when in isolation.
It makes zero sense but it's got nothing to do with McGowan.
It's an archaic regulation enshrined within the laws that the WA Prisons operate under.

Take away the COVID-19 discretions for a moment, not too many players would survive being involved in two street fights within a few months and get another chance. By all means help Stack through his current plight with support but imo he's lost his chance. That's life, most of us have our battles in life, and you live by your decisions. He's had plenty of chances, was given a lifeline, there's a thousand willing to take his place and live by the rules. Give it to someone who values the unique opportunity.

My fear with this bloke is draggin* others down with him , that will be the 64,000 question on the lips of our leadership team . Can he genuinely focus on the work required without being drawn and distracted to the city lights . I personally have my doubts , within the club they will know best

Could have exactly the opposite effect too.
Others will see the mess Stacka has heaped upon himself and wonder why the hell would they put themselves through all that crap, just for a big night or two on the *smile*. They might also come to appreciate the work that the footy club is willing to put into Stacka n perhaps others who might at times fall into the steaming pile inadvertently.
Stacka's got a heap of work to do, to figure his life out n sort out what he actually wants to do with himself. It's harder for some than others, but he needs to pull the finger out big time as he'll rapidly run out of support if he keeps crappin all over the opportunities he's been given.

A few have said it and I reckon it's the only thing that makes any sense. If giving Stack another chance will generate ill feeling, or potentially weaken the no dh rule we have, then help the kid, but away from the club.

I reckon the senior players have the majority say in this. As well as hearing specifically what Sheds, Shai, DRioli and Marlion even think.

That is fine, but you can't be shaming people into not voicing an opinion simply because they believe he's had enough chances and should be sacked. That is left-wing politics 101.
I agree that particular post was uncalled for, but bleating about freedom of speech then complaining about a post the moment it offends your conservative sensibilities is Right wing 101. ;) I'd suggest making broad generalisations about the character of a significant percentage of forum members, based on the act of one, is beneath the qualities we expect of this forum. Head back to the politics board if you're looking for a political debate.

Would you like me to repeat the complete post for your enlightenment? Then we can properly discuss its merits.

Prior to that post, I don't think there has been anything in this thread that is out of line. Feel free to highlight anything you believe qualifies as race-baiting.

AFL recruiting guru warns ‘massive alarm bells’ for jailed Richmond youngster Sydney Stack

David Zita

December 23, 2020

AFL recruiting guru Michael Ablett believes Sydney Stack may've played his last game for Richmond following his alleged breach of Western Australia's quarantine laws.

Stack will spend Christmas behind bars after being arrested on Saturday and refused bail, with police alleging the 20-year-old breached the state’s quarantine laws which were triggered when his flight from Victoria made a stopover in Adelaide.

Ablett, who served as the AFL National Talent Football Manager for six years before becoming WA’s Talent Pathway Manager until recently, helped make Stack a member of the national academy before he was drafted in 2019, but admitted the Tigers now faced a difficult call.

“We selected him out of the under-16 championships into the national academy because we just thought he was an elite talent. His talent was never questioned, but we were aware of the challenges we faced in terms of getting things right off-field,” he told foxfooty.com.au.

“The tough position that Richmond are in is that they know he’s an elite talent probably in their best 26 to 28 players, but it’s bigger than that now.

“Football clubs are a business and we’re in a tough economic climate where sponsors are hard to retain.”

Stack’s alleged quarantine breach could mark the second time this year he has flouted strict rules, with he and teammate Callum Coleman-Jones fined, banned for 10 games and sent home from Queensland’s AFL hub in September after getting into a fight outside a strip club.

Ablett said the biggest question mark around Stack had always been his off-field behaviour and the possibility he had broken strict rules twice “would be ringing massive alarm bells”.

For Ablett, the most pressing concern for Richmond, other than Stack’s welfare, would be the cultural ramifications at the club and any impressionable young teammates.

“The question you have to ask yourself is, ‘Are they going to take anyone else down with them and if so how many?’ That’s the greatest concern - you’ve got the commercial aspect and the other aspect is how much damage are they going to do to other players,” he said.

“I think the club is in a very difficult position. If it was a one-off I think you forgive and try and educate, but when it could be now twice I’d be really concerned and with the type of culture they’ve created I don’t think they’re going to stand for much more.”

So i expect him to back after he gets out.

Who the *smile* is Ablett?
He should just hang out with the fkkunckle Sheehan.
