My understanding is Syd got out of Adelaide as quickly as humanly possible and is back in WA.
Understandable for him to bolt to what he knows, the only problem is what he knows might not be the best for him.
He stated as much that he needed to get out of WA to make it, due to too many bad influences.
Hopefully the kid has had enough of a realisation thats it up to him to get it back on track and is keeping his nose clean and doing what he needs to.
Surely the club has someone in WA in looking in or having meetings with him or maybe even training with him or am I being naive.
Right now whilst the season is in session for the RFC I just cant see him being left without direction or posts to hit, ie training sessions or meetings.
Same for Callum.
Then I expect next news of him will be another front page story of men behaving badly.

I personally liked Stakman in the half back role, but I suspect his foot injury took some agility and subsequently confidence away.

This year would test the mettle of even the strongest characters and minds. I'm giving Syd a pass and hope that he can build on his first year's efforts.
But the life of an AFL footballer requires enormous discipline and the sacrifice of a large part of everyday age-specific social norms. It's not for everyone.
But I'm optimistic about Syd - like I am about Chol - and believe that he'll turn out to be AA, a Brownlow, Jack Dyer and Norm Smith medallist.

FOR A SIDE thats won 2 flags last 3 years,4 prelims,AND TO PICK A TOP 5 TALENT , thats simply unbelievable and we must persist as hes 1 of several talents we can keep in the premiership window, please richmond keep this amazing talent.

I hate to be critical of the guy and hope he can utilise his talent, but this was an incredibly poor season from him, even leaving out the kebabgate thing.
Looked like Andrew Raine's did after his rising star runner up. Like a bloke who had no idea what he did the season before that made him a talent.
Second year blues is a thing, but that was something else.
My theory on the kabab transgression is that the Gold Coast nightlife is almost irresistible in it's glitzy, sleazy attraction to a lot of young men. It's brighter and cleaner than The Cross but edgier than St Kilda in it's overt, rough sexual appeal. These guys were conned by the glamour and the dirt - and they were the only ones caught. For sure, a lot more were out cruising than we've heard about.
