Sydney Stack

Have some concerns with young Stack.
Too much FIGJAM about him.
Needs to grow up.

Why are you surprised @eZyT ? Syd had known issues in lead up to draft which is why no-one drafted him in the first place, Syd blasted onto the scene, double page spreads on tough upbringing and his supposed redemption with Stack expressing his gratitude for the opportunity given to him by the RFC determined not to succumb to the the same fate as his Forebears, (great way to show his appreciation by the way).
Fact is they are just words, actions speak louder than words and unfortunately Syd's issues still remain and have caused Richmond much angst this year.
Granted every club would most likely have a Syd story but Syd is ours and rightly or wrongly demands scrutiny by those vested in his success or otherwise.
As far as I am aware CJ has no earlier priors which would explain the discrepancy in clickbait.
Regardless Benny Gale in his club statement said RFC will wrap their arms around both so how this story ultimately ends is totally in their own hands.
Equally, Jules, Syd's much-reported upbringing means it would be unfair of anyone to expect him to become Trent Cotchin overnight. Wrap our arms around him, help him grow. If that's not the Richmond way maybe our culture has gone to *smile*.

reading the report with comments from Benny Gale, the AFL, the QLD Govt , & notification that any further breaches from the club will lead to a loss of premiership points - pretty safe to say that Sydney Stack has played his last game for Richmond.

Jeez, ya stick up for a bloke...

THAT'S IT, PAL!

The Dusty example is used to show that a player can mature in the right atmosphere. Stack is no Dusty, but has a ton of talent himself. Ultimately it will be up to the club whether they believe he is a lost cause or not.

Stack is done at Richmond. The club wont tolerate his *smile*, i guarantee it. To hear Benny say that this incident has "damaged our brand" - that is business speak for. "he is *smile* out"

Think Syd knows tonight it’s all over
Back to Melbourne tomorrow

4 pages on CCJ. 13 on SS

so far

What are you implying mate? That we don't like Stacky - or that its a racist thing?

I dont see either as being relevant. Everyone bought stock in the Sydney Stack train last year. We all loved his effort, his enthusiasm, his pride in being aboriginal - we all wanted to see him succeed. We all saw a bloke who had gotten a chance, take it and win the world over. We were all, ALL IN.

This year we have seen a different bloke, just from going from his onfield stuff. His form dropped away, his effort was not there. He was sluggish, looked unfit and struggled to perform despite the coach giving him more chances than most. Then he wrapt it all up by doing this, 2 weeks out from the finals. We all know CCJ was there too - but he hasn;t been a regualr senior player and i see zero point posting my comments evenly between the 2 threads. The convo is taking place here.

This is definitely not a race or personal thing with Stacky. We all wanted to see him succeed. But we drafted him with an * next to his name & this year without all the highlights and boyish charm to back it up - we saw why the * existed. Seeing this side of him, i don't want a *smile* bar of it & would rather the club move on. We are not commenting as much about CCJ mainly because, none of us bought the stock in him like we all did with Stacky. Because of that, we all feel incredibly let down by him.

It was only 2 weeks ago he was part of the team playing in Darwin. To be honest, most here felt he didn;t deserve his spot in that side, but his aboriginal heritage most likely got him a game as Dimma believed in him and understands what that game means to those kids. For him to play up like this 2 weeks out from finals after months of media scrutiny finally behind us - he has not respected the club in the same way they clearly respected him

I was just pointing out that the narrative is broadly Syd is a *smile* up and CJ's been caught in his orbit.

that might be true. or it mightn't be?

I dunno.

This doesn't help the situation it's fair to say ......

"Stack took to Facebook on Friday afternoon, posting a single-worded message of “whoops”.

View attachment 10402

In the comments of the post he also appears to have laughed off the controversy, writing: “Should see the other guy”.

Well, seems like Syd is taking it all calmly in stride, seems a strange thing to write in a public social media account after being front page news around the country.

Nothing contrite about that comment he's written for all to see.

If that's really Stack then he certainly hasn't twigged that this *smile* is serious, or he doesn't really care.

Equally Spook, the club also has a "No D#%#head" policy so it's a fine line ;)

Not sure what they are but I'm guessing it wasn't him posting then. Thank god for small mercies.
Yeah just a fan page made by a supporter. News.com.au look to have jumped the gun as usual.

'Tis, mate. Reckon he's a good kid, though. I'll be disappointed if we sack him.

Benny has said they will wrap their arms around him so going to be a mightily intriguing off-season.
