Sydney Stack

He is 20 years old.
Give him a break.
He went to eat a kehab in a state that hasn't got lockdown restrictions.
Big deal.
Not the place on a forum
But this bloke is trouble !
Lived at Dimma’s under a curfew for a reason before he went to Gold Coast
This isn’t a surprise
Team will be better off without him
Now they can concentrate on winning the flag

That's what i was looking at.
2 20 year olds cop 10 weeks, while 1 vice captain to decides to drive when he was drunk.
And the other was that drunk that he forgot to put his pants on.
If it was a Collingwood player he would be back before the finals.
Like what they did with Stephenson

It's a disgrace.

Me to mate like I said give them 4 weeks for being out , but 10 weeks all I can say wanted to make example of it.

mine comes from a place of rallying against the new normal.

I get all the angst. I understand it.

but when you frame it in a 2019 context; 2 blokes look at tits and get a kebab on a Thursday night

it shouldn't be a hysterical situation. In reality, they did absolutely nothing out of the normal.

the 'brawl' is a red herring - it was no brawl, its just what got them caught.

they looked at some tits and ate a kebab 8 days out from a game.

I get times are different, but im just trying to stay the same

ITS NOT 2019 !

Might as well frame it all against 1975 mate!

Whats on the line at the moment makes this is FAAARRRRRRRR worse - on every level!

The swan bloke got suspended for 8 weeks just for SNEAKING his girlfriend in! He didn't even break the bloody hub, period!

As a club, we were already sitting on a suspended sentence - ie a warning!

10 weeks is SPOT ON! ITs exactly in line with what i expected, based on precedent. My only beef is it being included in our soft cap as i dont think a staff member should lose their job over this - if anything, make it part of the playing cap as its a playing group related problem

its hilarious how different some of your tones are about these "boys" vs what crap you expected Brooke to do for her mess up. She isn't even a player nor an employee of the club, yet you wanted her to front up for a public apology to the members, pay the fine herself etc etc etc.. Its horrifically hilarious that NO ONE here is saying - make "the Boys" pay the fine. Talk about kicking and screaming against progress, *smile* me!

You don't like him. Fair enough. I wonder what your thoughts on 20 year old Dustin Martin would have been.

Meh, 5-7 weeks and $50,000 is more like it.

I get the extra responsibility of lockdown but man, many are over-reacting.

Stack can write off 2020 as a bad dream and hit the track early for 2021.

Winning the flag this year will be the worst punishment he cops.

Ive never said a bad word about Sydney prior to this, except his form was ordinary this year. I had incredibly high hopes for him - but he came with baggage as it was, which was why we picked him up in the rookie draft only.

An no offence to Sydney, he aint Dusty & in the footy tolerance world, that means everything. Sydney is a rookie listed "1 good season" prospect. You don't get given the same chances as the guy who has the potential to be the best player of this millennium

Would have thought us winning the flag last year also would have been punishment.

Apparently not.

It’s the Stack thread isn’t it ? So why would I comment on CJ ?

it’s not gossip , as I said earlier I just believe Syd probably dosent have the dedication to do all the things a player needs to do to make it in the AFL , it’s not just on talent alone an I can tell you now I hope Syd makes it more then anybody,it’s a Public forum I can form an opinion on a player however I like , Plenty of players I’ve got wrong , plenty I’ve got wrong . Syd won’t be the first or last young bloke who has struggled with the demands of been in the AFL .

In post 4069 you start by saying you 'have had a bit to do with' Stacky, and then you go on to state your negative opinion. When challenged on what incidents you witnessed or were privy to which supported your opinion you didn't do so. All you could do was say you were 'entitled to your opinion', which is of course true. But when you state or imply that your opinion is based on your personal knowledge or experiences with him you ... what's the use here.
The fact is that you didn't know him but just thought you would big note yourself. Some, not me but some would call you a fantasising lineament sniffer,

This doesn't help the situation it's fair to say ......

"Stack took to Facebook on Friday afternoon, posting a single-worded message of “whoops”.

In the comments of the post he also appears to have laughed off the controversy, writing: “Should see the other guy”.

Well, seems like Syd is taking it all calmly in stride, seems a strange thing to write in a public social media account after being front page news around the country.

Nothing contrite about that comment he's written for all to see.

The Dusty example is used to show that a player can mature in the right atmosphere. Stack is no Dusty, but has a ton of talent himself. Ultimately it will be up to the club whether they believe he is a lost cause or not.

With you all the way. To me this is not a Richmond thing. Anyone breaking hub rules should get 10 weeks. If you can't control yourself in light of something as serious as a pandemic then you don't deserve the protection of a decent salary and all the other benefits that come with being in the AFL system. We all progress through life on the decisions we make. Make mistakes, suffer the consequences. There'll be someone right behind you willing to make the required sacrifices.

I get the outrage. I really do. Melbourne is *smile* and people are making massive sacrifices.

But honestly, you wouldnt know Covid existed on the GC. It's sunny. strip clubs are open, nightclubs are open. footy is on.

these 2 blokes *smile* up beyond doubt.

but I understand why and how.
