Just as I suspected - not a mention of our 5 missing premiership players and another (Conca) of our best 22.

Absolute exemplary example of media double standards on AAA. Irrefuteable.

Exhibit A: Collingwood cruelled by injuries, Listed the injuries in red. As has been discussed, apart from Treloar, and Reid, the rest are crocs or good ordinary players and not even that many in terms of raw numbers, no mention of their fit A graders.

Exhibit B: "Lucky" Richmond. List our A graders and how many games they have, (ie havn't), missed. No mention or graphics of our injuries, brief mention of Prestia in passing. We don't have that many less in raw numbers, and I'd argue ours are better players across the board.

Fair dinkum.

how do me compare with other teams in regards to how many games our best 22 have missed games? how many listed players have played in the senior team this year? someone in the media usually releases these stats at some point... I'd love to see this data.

from memory last year, I believe we played more players than all of the other teams that finished in the top 4.

all up we've had a good run with injuries, don't dispute that if you take the timeframe over the last 2 seasons. But right now we have a few which is being conveniently ignored, And Collingwood's is being overstated. Blatant ignorance, poor analysis or spin, take your pick.

Does this 'already' mean that unless we beat WC in the GF, the other team (e.g. war-torn Scumwood, plastic Hiants) would've beaten us if they weren't so undermanned?

I think there were 14 players unavailable to play the weekend that are on our list. 6 of them would be in our best 22. I think Daisy Pearce was the only commentator who mentioned that we had 6 good players missing. But the undermanned Cats were brave :rofl :rofl

Unless Cotch, Dusty, Jack and Rance are all out the belief is that the Tigers don't have any injuries.

I noticed in the media today it was mentioned that Richmond ‘have recently been coming back to the field’.
Wow!

Beat 2 other contenders but we have come back to the field, god help us if we lost those 2 games

Her stance against the competition that she is a pin up girl for and her willingness to point out its foibles and failures i find impressive.

Now shes the only one pointing out that for the Tigers and their outs.

Starting to like the girl.

Not sure if it happened to other Premiers like Hawthorn and Geelong, however it feels like the media( footy experts) are trying to do anything they can to dissect our game and find a weakness so we can’t go back to back, so good been hated #jealousflogs

The press just don't like winners especially a club Richmond as we are supposed to be tail end Charlies every season. Just take it on the chin and rose above all the press pettiness. I wonder what would happen if we actually had a number of injuries to those of our best 22 and the umps gave us a fair crack at decisions

When I started this thread some said, "Yeah but this commentator said we are ok" or
"This commentator likes us" or some such. But what has been said recently is what I was expecting. A deep seated, unspoken revulsion of all things Richmond. It actually horrifies most of them that WE of all clubs could possibly be THE most powerful, dynasty chasing club in the land. They are twisting themselves in knots trying to find ways that we will lose the flag, revealing their desire to see us return to the pits of the lower ladder in eternum. There is nothing more that challenges the accepted narratives and paradigms of footy post 1982, than a strong Richmond. Just look at Chris Scott. Can barely hold his contempt. Robbo grinds his teeth over us. The are also disturbingly jealous of the power of The Army, the sheer joy we take in overcoming our collective pain, and the revelling in our success. They dream of being a part of it. The can't, and never can be.
Viva Richmond.

Viva El Tigres

I liked it better when they gave us NOTHING!!

$2.50 Favorites to take out GF.
Chasm between Richmond and the rest.
Unbeatable at the "G"
Like Moses the seas are parting and it is all opening up for the Tigers, they have no injuries while their rivals have been ravaged.
It's the Tiger's to lose.

The wheels have turned all the media jocks are pushing us up, (but secretly hoping for a fall), above are just a few comments listening to the radio this morning.

I must admit I preferred last year when I was just enjoying the ride but not expecting the ultimate Fairy tale. Now only another Premiership will do.

I loved last year and I'm loving this year. What's not to love! Very different from the prior 37 years.

agree, last year we had nothing to lose and could just go for it. Now it’s expected to be ours and now anything else and we fail. It certainly is ours to lose, but as Dimma says, you only have to be off by 5% and a team can do you over. I just hope we can bring our best when it counts. I don’t think anyone can take us if we are at our best!

They are not very good at keeping secrets! Whispy was almost begging for us to get multiple injuries! Many of them have a varnish of salt in their tone when they begrudgingly talk about our standing in the game!

But, thats a step up from the we only won the GF cause the crows had a bad day narrative.
