Still giving us nothing...'cept Cups and Medals

How about 2008?
Geelong went 21-1, finished four wins and 30% ahead of second, and lost the Grand Final.

St Kilda in 2009 weren't that far behind (20-2, 2 games and 28% ahead of 2nd). we're not gonna win 20 games or have a 28% percentage advantage, that's for sure. Collingwood also went 20-2 and lost in 2011.

Dimma could do worse than play a few clips of that final if we make the GF

This.
Plus, it might be a good idea to also show some clips from that debacle last year against the Aints.....mainly because most of our current players were involved in that, and hence can relate to it....and yes, I know it wasn’t a GF, but it does highlight how quicley, and easily, it can all turn to sh%t....and that was against a crap team!

Why would you want to show clips of teams losing the grand final. Don't get that thought into the back of the boys minds. As a motivator it does the opposite.

Show them last year's Grand Final and how we needed to hit every contest at 100%. That's what you want bubbling away in the back of the boys minds.

Yep.

And go back to Port Adelaide in 2002...finished top 18-4, met Collingwood (13-9) at Football Park and got rolled.
Then in 2003 finished top on 18-4 again, met Sydney (14-8) at football Park and got rolled again.

Neither year they made the grand final.

Anything can happen. Being the best team during the season means not much more than getting you a good draw in the finals. Its a new ball game in September.

That's great, but there are a million waiting for us to stack it.
Same goes for any team. Adelaide copped it from all angles after losing the GF. You just got to cop it.

For a laugh jumped onto the Geelong board on Bigfooty discussing their coach (a slow day in the office), where there is plenty of in-fighting and lots of dissatisfaction with Scott. But there are constant comparisons with Hardwick and Richmond who are currently the benchmark in the league.

When the inevitable fall happens of course they will stack it on, but right now there is a lot of respect for Richmond going around. And let's face it we all get a little board discussing how rosy everything is at tigerland - unfamiliar territory for us all.

Maybe a bit of both - kick off with brief highlight of our game against Saints last year and then move onto our GF win last win. Both games contained lots of scoring by the team with momentum. Then talk about how to get momentum. But what would I know, I don't even know if Rhys Stanley is going to play in any given week - Chris Scott.

The team is not taking anything for granted - just listen to Dimma’s comments after Jack kicked 10 last week -they are driven as a team and club and there are no signs of complacency from the outside.

I think they are working hard to try and win out from here - no honourable losses or losses that we have to have - just keep the foot flat to the floor.

And I don’t think either of Dons or Doggies are going to be easy games like the suns dished up

Looking back on losses is what losers do.

I've never been in a motivational presentation/environment where failure has been highlighted to motivate.

I was thinking the other day about how long it has been since we have made controversial news.

I couldn't think of any controversies this year. Closest thing maybe was the Rance diving saga (all media driven off course).

Last year we had Dusty's contract and Bachar's striking incident, but nothing too severe. Also the boobs incident which was unfortunate (but overshadowed somewhat by our premiership)

The most recent blow-up I can think of was chopstick-gate.

Must be pretty boring these days in the RFC media department!

Last major Richmond caused scandal was electing Peggy as President. Plenty still can't get over having an American female as President of the Premiers.

Last nights commentary was unbearable. They shouldve all been wearing Essendon scarfs and beanies

they were begging for a Essendon comeback ,it was pathetic

It's to be expected. These guys need to generate excitement. Everyone expects Richmond to win. When we do it's not exciting to the neutral. So every match becomes a "Can the beat Richmond? Ohhhhh, they might beat Richmond. Woooooweeeeee they are taking it up to Richmond".

Just take as a compliment every time you hear the commentators trying make a loss to Richmond sound exciting.
