Yeah they do this so when we lose a game the media can go "remember all those Richmond supporters saying it was their premiership to lose, and who is going to beat Richmond? They got WAY too confident" When it was just the media saying it.

Then it gives opposition supporters ammo to tell us how carried away we got.

I like hearing about us doing well, but I wish they wouldn't forward cast with an ulterior motive.
 
To be fair, after our last loss to Port the media pretty much said "so what? They are still the best".

We're getting the plaudits worthy of a team that is dominating the league.

yes it was no fluke - we were the best team the last third of last season, and the best team for the first two thirds of this season. 17 wins from our last games. Only losses against good teams interstate.
 
I was in a hamburger joint tonight and there was a doggies premiership framed picture with a few individual photos of their marquee players. Bont, Macrae, Libba, Boyd, Johannisen and Wood.

I couldn't help compare them against our top tier. Not one of the doggies top 6 would be ahead of Martin, Rance, Riewoldt. Maybe Bont and Macrae could be compared with Cotch, but Cotch has now proven his value to the footy world. And then there are another dozen tigers you would easily through up before the doggies best 3-6 players listed in the picture. Edwards, Houli, Prestia, Grimes, Astbury, Floss, etc etc. And then there are the doggy head cases in Boyd and Libba...

My point being that seeing the picture made me realise the doggies premiership team, as good as it was at the time, is no where near being in the same echelon as the tigers premiership team.
 
Has the media stopped talking yet about how the Saints smashed us at Etihad last year?

Listened to 3AW on the way home from the game. Nearly turned it off.

Got sick of the "was it a goal" re Higgins, then it was caller after caller of Filth whingers about the umpires. Cox not getting a fair go etc.

For a start, Jack cops worse every week. Dusty was manhandled all bloody day too. They got 3 of their first 6 goals from frees.

Blobbo and Micky are the latest to join the list of believing the Pies will beat us. I've always believed they can, and called them our best match, but only because they copied us.

We just have to go up another notch if we meet in the GF.
