Steve Morris F/S

God him and Chaplin in the backline what hope have we got?

They are two of the worst kicks of the football in the business and we have them waxing down back.

He did a couple of good things but overall well below par and his mistakes seriously punish us. The last two weeks it was obvious he was carrying a shoulder injury and it showed again today. Needs some repair and a stint in the 2nds to regain some skill.

His courage is in the very rare G Archer mould, how he continues to go just as hard with the shoulders the way they are is bloody amazing

Yep amazingly brave.

The warriors on PRE might not appreciate the effort, but I bet it is applauded inside the club.

The 'warriors' on PRE would prefer he hit simple targets instead of spoiling teammates marking opportunities.

Thank god he improved dramatically on one of the most comically bad first Qs from any AFL player this year.

Love this bloke an yes I can see the faults, but just love his attack on ball, opponent an teammate ;D , fact is I reckon the cotton is goin to snap on those shoulders soon an he will be out for the season, so who replaces him in the back pocket? Arnott to slow back there? Banfield foot skills? Grimes? Lennon too inexperienced ? Pettard too slow? Maybe Gordon could be a smoky

I just can't see how his shoulders will hold up for another 2 and a half seasons. The guy damages them every week and is in pain every game.

How many injections must he be getting just to be able to play a game?

I don't reckon his getting the jab, I think there just slipping a tad an he gets em back in an off he goes again

Courageous yes but is he what we need in the back half running out of defence? No his disposal is very poor and often his awareness is lacking. His courage and desperation is admirable, but there are others who could do better, i.e. Dea.

For sheer contempt for his own pain there aren't many that can go with Steve Morris. BTW I mean agony. Dislocated shoulder? Special agony.

But, eh, we can just go to a car crash ward for that.

I have criticised Steve Morris relentlessy, in my own way, over the past twelve months or so. Has not improved.

David Rodan was not a good footballer. He had a strength. He was as good at full tilt at gathering a worm-burner as anybody I've seen. A strength.

If the ball spills from an aerial contest and a pack forms under it, if Steve Morris is within five metres he will be under that pack. He is not just fearless - he is insanely aggressive. He can win the ball. Reading it, hitting it - true bite. Morris is a freak.

I pay my money, my shoulders are in their sockets. Meh, Steve Morris's pain.

But once or twice Morris did that thing last weekend and then he ran away with the ball. He used to do that a lot. I want the old Steve Morris back and then the ten per cent improvement in attack that he owes us. (Defensively good IMO.)

Who have we got who has real pace that can replace Morris on Garlett/Bets/any Rioli/White etc. We can whinge about Morris as much as we like we have problems replacing him atm.

We've got to stop using him as the user of the ball out of the backline. So often the last in a chain of handballs and ends up being the one to make the significant disposal out of the backline. He's the worst user in the team and if they're going to play him need to minimise the damage he can do.
Similarly when Thomas is playing, another guy you want getting minimal disposals as when he gets it he butchers it as well.

Agree but its the players around him that need to work and move like morris to be the outlet.
Morris should be nothing but a run with the best small forward and kill him...simple.
It makes me rip out my hair when I see him as the link up man into middle..................bloody hell where are the other more polished kicks???
