Steve Morris F/S

Couldn't work out why Morris was pinged in the 3rd quarter when he tackled a Saint in the back pocket and the ball rolled across the line. The line ump gave a ball up but the ref overruled him. Can someone clarify please?
Thought Morris played his usual hard running and hard tackling game.

He played (kept tapping) the ball to go over the line. An obvious deliberate. He had time to pick up the ball and continue playing.

Seeing as he doesn't have to worry about Thomas this week could be the ideal man to run with boomer... Important role because he always kills us!

An unbiased question to the experts.

St Bernard's College in Essendon has an AFL Team of the Century night and as an old boy I get to vote on the best 22. I have one spot left and my biased voting is putting Stevie Morris in the side and omitting James Polkinghorne from Brisbane.

On stats I should give the spot to Polkinghorne as per below:

Steven Morris - 33 Games, 2 Goals
James Polkinghorne - 90 Games, 53 Goals

I will be honest I have not seen much of Polkinghorne so I cannot honestly rate him against Stevie. Stevie is one of my favourites and I feel if he had played a smany AFL games as Polkinghorne this would be a no brainer.

So I am looking to the footballing experts and purist's for some assistance. Can someone provide some unbiased help??

FYI my St Bernard's AFL/VFL Team of the Century looks like

Backs: Paul Hamilton, Paul Doran, Brad Sholl
HBF's: Garry Foulds, Scott Lucas, David Darcy
Cen's: Daniel Cross, Jude Bolton, Kevin Egan
HFF's: James Cook, Simon Madden, Leigh Tudor
Fwd's: Don McKenzie, Matthew Lloyd, Ricky McLean

Followers: Justin Madden, Dane Swan, David Calthorpe
I/change: Jack O'Halloran, Peter Filandia, Steven O'Dwyer, (Steven Morris or James Polkinghorne???)

Thanks!

Steve also won this weeks "Rascal" award for kicking away Kosi's mouthguard! Naughty ;D

No expert, but reckon Polkinghorne's an average player (best finish of 16th in the Brisbane b&f) who has achieved more than Morris at the top level simply through length of service.

I like Bob's 'Rascal' award. I think Steve is the first Tiger to get a guernsey, too.

It was quite rascalish though..... :hihi He would have to be a contender for rascal of the year.
