Steve Morris F/S

If Morris had played his usual small back game on Friday I think it's certain that we'd have won.

That kind of report/suspension is at worst unlucky. We need another Steve Morris. Maybe two more.

Dea should have played instead of Helbig. I cannot for the life of me understand that selection. If we intended to play Helbig in defence, why not pick Dea instead who's actually played there this year.

I reckon if Dea played we might have snagged it.

I reckon if Houli picked up his man properly we might have won it. I reckon if Nahas and Pettard didn't loiter on the wing and made themselves useful down back in the dying minutes we would have won it. Maybe if Newman stepped up like a leader should and marshalled the troops we would have won it.

Playing the kids isn't the problem, getting the leaders to lead is.

I don;t think so. Helbig has been playing brilliantly at AFL level thus his call up. But we can't expect our youngsters to automatically turn it on first game in for the season at AFL level. They need time to adjust. Dea has been performing well too at VFL level but he would have had the same adjustment issues as Helbig.

Fair call on that specific moment, and no doubt an area our whole team needs to do better, but a bit harsh on Houli who saved our ass a few times and was one of our best players on the night.

Fast becoming one of our most important players. Has worn Motlop like a glove tonight, who before tonight was one of the most in-form players in the comp.

Amen. There's not many to players that can consistently stop damaging small forwards. And he does it with such aggression and determination. Love the bloke in our side.

And he Morris never touched the ball - cant have that ineffective game from him

If he takes out their best running forward each week he will be one of my first picked.

Morris showed what a crucial player he is on Saturday night. He's one we've got right.

Just love the way Morris plays. Had his hands full against Davey but fought well and I think we under-estimate his committment sometimes at making solit second decisions to go off his man and help his team mates with desperate acts.
