Should get off, didn't leave the ground, was hardly moving, no raised arms and Elliot's head hit him in the middle of his back. A good shepherd that Elliot saw coming and made a mess of.
Agree. Kept his feet, was just a good bump.

common sense says yes, MRP won't agree. If he caught him in the head at all (other than his own head) he will get weeks.

Yep. Richmond minimum is 2 weeks out not zero.

Absolute disgrace that Morris copped a week for that shepherd. In recent times we've lost the bump, hard tackle, and players attacking the football. Looks like the shepherd is the next thing to go. ::) :p

We must appeal. The principal is more important than the risk of an extra week.

Few years ago that was a perfect shepherd. Nowadays with the anals running the circus it's a criminal offence.
We need to get more Gaelic tours happening, our game is rapidly becoming touch footy.

We need to start a revolution and rest the power from those hell bent on stripping every recognizable feature of our code.... our culture.... our game!!!. The dark forces follow the business model of the McDonalds franchise to make the product as bland and generic as possible in the hope of capturing the masses with something featureless but palatable to the greater masses.
They have such a choking control of all connected to the game ,electronic and print media alike do not dwell on game tampering and changing for to long for fear of retribution when media deals are done.

WE WANT OUR GAME BACK!!!

I thought it was very similar to Lindsay Thomas. It's just wrong. Watched K Hunt against Port the other day, he was running in, thought about tackling then threw his arms up and ran past te Port player. Tackling will disappear over the next 20 years.

Yep will evolve into the same rules as the half time Auskickers, probably with less contact though! ::) We'll actually be looking forward to half time so we can see a bit of body contact.

The Morris MRP charge is what is wrong with the panel and the modern game. If you can't do what he did in that bump there is something wrong. Glancing hit, Elliot isn't concussed and plays out game yet Morris is charged because high contact is made. It's worthy of a free kick at most. If he chooses to bump and Elliot receives an injury then bets are off.

Maybe he should've lowered himself and made sure his head made contact with Elliot's head because that's ok apparently.

Having said this, arguing with the MRP is like arguing with brick, you get nowhere. Take the week on offer.

Considering how red hot they are on contact to the head, incidental or not and the fact that Morris' elbow came up, even though it was not intentional, I think he's lucky to get the week for this and should take it. Elliott was off the ground for some time and there was even talk of them activating the sub for him. This wasn't like the Russell hit where he was barely touched, yet went down like a sack of wet spuds. Maybe if the umpire had noticed it and paid a free it may not have been reported, but he didn't.

We crave a small forward that has speed and can also make the defenders accountable.
Thinking outside the box...
Why dont we try Morris (when available) in the Jake King role and see how he goes ?
Morris is fast, reads the play well and would trouble most defenders with his attack on the footy

Morris has been pretty good on the small forwards so far to date. No need to change his position and rob Peter to pay Paul.

Seems to be sacrafcing his disposal rate more this year to lock down tighter.

Will be interesting to see how we go again Ballantyne and Walters without him. One of the better small forward duos in the comp. Walters is a genuine star.

Agree, Morris has performed very well on the gun smalls. Been crying out for someone in that role as we've been slaughtered on countless occassions by the opposition small over the years. Don't know why we'd try to play him King's forward role.

Agree. Although, in the hypothetical scenario that Dea or Vlas were to show (when they get the opportunity - possibliy this week) a similiar level of ability to Morris in the small defender role, it does give the coaching staff some flexibility to try some things like this without robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Really missed him last night, 7 goals kicked by their small forwards, could have made the difference IMO...
