Steve Morris F/S

Surely the reason for extending Dimmas contract was that he would coach for the future. Obviously 28 year olds who were not good enough 3 years ago are the future

Agree totally

I think most have forgotten Morris is the biggest turnover king we've ever had . This selection is very disappointing and on previous form in the seniors will cost us 3 goals. We have been fantastic this year and honestly cannot believe this selection.

Same.
Quite
Astonished

Somewhat perplexing but I'm prepared to give him a chance.

On a side note, Morris must be the only AFL player who has ever done and an ACL and then, a split second later, tried to get the ball.

Having been a die hard tigers supporter for more than 50 years Most of them at the wrong end of the ladder I just can not accept giving limited players who have already had many opportunities and not delivered another chance. Would like to see another premiership in my life time. Selection of Morris just leaves me in despair

Morris' selection is pure genius.

It will finally allow Conca to be released into the midfield.

Yes he has done well to get back from an ACL but the issue is he has only ever been below VFL at best not an AFL player and gets selected before Miles and Lloyd who are proven AFL performers. With decisions like this it is no wonder the tigers have not win a final in many years

I've worked it out. Hardwick has an extension clause in his coaching contract based on how many games Morris plays.

You are not alone
C Ellis
Lloyd
Miles
Townsend even

No hard feeling towards Steve but he is not an AFL player and it's a pathetic decision to select him by a stubborn fool

The only question is "Does he bring something to the team?" I can't figure out what that might be. He is only quick in a straight line over short distances. He isn't creative. He isn't a prodigious tackler. He is tenacious. We don't lack that anymore. He is a role player who follows instructions. Okay but that isn't the kind of thing that I think pushes any of the current squad out of their position.

Agree with the earlier suggestion to make him Captain of the Magoos and talk up his role as a shepherd of the flock a "playing coach" to help develop the next leaders at Tigerland.

If he takes out Betts early then this selection makes some sense.

Anyway good luck to Steve Morris.
Done well to get back from his knee and is a very good fella and clubman.
Hope he slays it.

Hardwick loves Morris, lets hope Steve delivers.

You can fgarantee he will run 100 mile per hour at every contest head first with helicopter arms, that can make a few people nervous, Eddie maybe struggling to sleep tonight.

No shock his faught himself back into the side in less then 12 months from a reco, his courage and determination has never been questioned. It's hard to remember that scribes were talking off him been an AA back pocket a few years back, then his form plummeted , however imho he was just starting to play decent footy again when he did his ACL and the VFL game I saw he was bloody good, not sure his future in the AFL but good luck to Morro he deserves and will need a bit against Eddie. Personally would have gone Grimes on Betts

If the reason for Morris being in is as a lockdown defender. he will be in for next four games so we may as well get used to it.

Only injury will see him removed from here unfortunately, regardless of poor form.
