4 touches wouldn't get you a game the following week at another club
That was when they were still trying the forward experiment. Once that failed and the only option was defence if he put in a poor, low possession game he was dropped. If we'd had all our best 22 fit (Grigg, Lids, Maric, Yarran) Morris wouldn't have been selected. He'll count himself very lucky if he survives the cut for the Collingwood game and he really is living on borrowed time as a senior selection.tigerlove said:Last year he had 3 disposals in Rd1 played Rd2, 4 disposals in Rd4 played Rd5, 3 disposals in Rd15, dropped for Rd16. Remarkably in all those games he did not get one kick. I'm guessing he'll be playing next game.
This borrowed time has been overdue for a while now....CarnTheTiges said:That was when they were still trying the forward experiment. He's contracted until the end of 2017. He played 21 games (including the EF against Port in 2014), despite the buggered shoulder. No shoulder injury last year and played 14 games, at least half when he was being trialled as a forward in a fairly desperate attempt to salvage his career. If that trend continues then he'll play almost no games in 2017 and after that we won't have to worry about him.tigertim said:This borrowed time has been overdue for a while now....
He was led to the ball all night, always a very late second. Puhlease don't buy the suggesion he did some sort of job on an opponent. We were effectively one man down all night (again). If because of injuries Morris is an example of our outstanding depth then lord here my prayer.CC TIGER said:I certainly don't think Morris is in our best 22, however stats aside and forgetting that he simply offers nothing offensively, did he actually do his job the other night ? I think somebody said his direct opponent only had 3 touches ?
At Carlton they're saying Buckley held Morris to 4 touches :-XCC TIGER said:I certainly don't think Morris is in our best 22, however stats aside and forgetting that he simply offers nothing offensively, did he actually do his job the other night ?
