A bit harsh in my opinion. His carreer was nearly ruined by Hardwick last year.
No it's not. He is an extremely limited footballer and we have to move past this type if we want to win a premiership.
The saving grace is that once Deledio, Yarran, Grigg, Lennon, Conca are all fit, then surely there is no spot for him.

I am glad he is in. I am going tomorrow night and am intrigued to see whether I will abuse one of our own players. (On second thoughts it is not Morris' fault, it is all Hardwick's). Joke of a selection.

Against a young underdeveloped n rebuilding Bloosers side, I don't mind Morris getting a run. Not a large amount of AFL talent ( understatement ) but plays hard n angry with a brilliant team ethic n workrate. Something it won't hurt a lot of our younger n newer players to emulate, alongside their obvious skill capabilities.

I don't want any of our young players emulating anything this bloke does.

Rather morris in the backline than batchelor and hunt. Morris is ok as a lock down defender. Hardwick has stuffed him around with his forward experiment.

Morris as a 7th defender over Hunt should not be getting this much attention.

Yeah. I slightly prefer Hunt. What about you, Juffa?

I suppose Morris gives the impression of being harder. Some extra confidence for the young 'uns.

Morris best is in the back pocket. He hurts his opponents.
He might not be the cleanest player but as a defender he is ok.
I'm happy he is playing

Nah. Morris got exposed as the limited fumbly poor decision making panic merchant well before the forward experiment.

His finals performances down back should have seen his card stamped.

I used to really like Stevie but last year revealed that endeavour only goes so far. If the selection criteria at the RFC is a meritocracy as touted by the coaches with a smattering of team balance based on our opponents I still cannot see how Stevie is picked over more suitable candidates.

true. he is essentially competing against Hunt, Batchelor and Chaplin for that spot.
which is probably a bit of a concern, with only Yarran missing from our best back 6.

Hunt is a far better player and Morris is sub vfl standard.

Morris getting picked reminds me of that paraphrase "all players are equal but some are more equal than others"

I so wanted to start this season with a sense of positivity and not begin with a -ve post, rather blue sky and optimism. I have been gazumped. The match committee knew and played their ace. I'm out!

Why? Oh why Morris. Such enthusiasm for the contest - alas, always a moment after the contest has passed.
