Steve Morris F/S

After the stupid Rance free and the ball rushed forward why was Morris 10 yards away from his opponent Selwood. There was noone else to cover. No idea.

The amount times he ran past the Eagles player with the ball and followed his man instead of laying a tackle was ludicrous.

After a good game (his one and only game this season at an acceptable standard), Morris reverted back to form this week and did his headless chook impersonation. I really think we'd be better off going in a man short than continuing to play him.

They played him with one shoulder for a whole year, he'd need his head cut off before he'd miss a game

Even if Morris had his head cut off they'd still pick him
They'd force him to wear a helmet and hope no one noticed

Given he won't be dropped (who knows why), the only thing that can be done is that he returns to the backline to pick up the opposition small forward and somehow must learn to use the ball better. If not it's got be career ove. Liability this season.

From what I've seen apart from the one game against Freo (mainly in Q1), he hasn't added anything to the forward line in terms of pressure let alone score involvements.

There was one play in the 3rd where the ball was on the half forward flank and Morris had to go in hard and get the ball. Instead he skirted the pack waiting desperately for an Eagle to take control of the ball so that he could effect his half-a-second-late pressure act. It was a disgrace. Opening bounce he was last man forward all on his own 30 metres from any other player. The opposition had ZERO respect for him. For good reason.

He hurt the shoulder last night, but was back on fairly quickly. Tried using him back last night, he was as useless there as he has been everywhere else on the ground for most of this season with the exception of the Freo game. If he's going to be selected every week then the Freo game needs to be the rule, not the exception as it currently is.

Steve: 12 disposals (6contested 6 uncontested ) at 83%, 2 kicks 10 handballs, 19 metres gained, 2 clearances, 5 tackles, 20 pressure acts, 0 score, 0 score assists, 83% game time.

So he's not scoring, not assisting in scoring, he's not running with the ball but he's high on pressure acts. That's just simply not enough but I'm sure he,ll turn it around Friday night......

He and hunt look and play like our 21st and 22nd best players. Newman, knights and even petterd are ahead of these two. I'd like to see McDonough for hunt and give him four weeks at it.

aggression and tackling - tick. use of the ball? awful.

Unfortunately that's all you need to do to impressive Dimma.
Just ask Morris.

19m gained?!

One bit of play he missed an uncontested handball on the D50 line to another uncontested player by at least 5m. Through Deledio and someone else's near heroics they nearly saved it but just shook my head as I know when it bounced back to West Coast we'd be punished the other way. Was at a critical stage late in the game too if I remember right. Killed off any potential comeback.

It resulted in a Le cras shot on goal from 35 ( which he missed). Was bad, as was a fair majority of Steves night
