Song/Albums that stir the emotions

Just discovered Gary Clarke Jnr the other day. Heard a song when I jumped in the car after work and thought it may have been the latest by the Black Keys but then realised it wasn't them. After a bit of detective work found out it was Gary Clarke Jnr so went and listened to some of his stuff. Very enjoyable. He is being called the saviour of the blues and some even saying in small ways he is Hendrix like.
To me, it's just good music.
Has just been out to Aus and is apparently coming back in January for the big days out and some side shows. Only has 1 album out so far and a new one coming out on October 23rd.
Check him out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_ZeDn-hHGE&feature=related

Pass the beer around boys
And don't let the pint pot stand there
For tonight we'll drink the health

17 minutes long and I wish there was more of it.

Thanks Ian. Sounds like the Crazy Horse I love. Can't wait till it comes out.

Have you heard Americana? I've only had a chance to hear a few snippets and they didn't inspire me to rush out and buy the cd. I've certainly got it on my "to listen" list when the chance arises.

Its a bit up and down. You know its old American songs reinterpreted by Neil and Crazy horse, some translate really well, some not so well.

Hey Smash, here's one from our premiership year 1973 which relates to Graeme Richmond's words.

Great doco doing the rounds only at a few cinemas (saw it at Brighton Bay) is 'Searching For Sugar Man' about the music artist Rodriguez who released 2 albums in the early 70's that both failed to sell, but his first album (Cold Fact) become a massive underground hit in Apartheid Sth Africa. - and in Australia as I've since discovered.

Doco tracks 2 South African fans who try to find out what happened to him as there were a number of myths that he had met his demise, but there was no information anywhere about him.
At the time he was being touted as the Latin Bob Dylan. His parents were Mexican who moved to Detroit for work and he used to sing in the bars there before being offered a recording deal. Cool looking dude with a distinctive voice. You can you tube Rodriguez or Sixto Rodriguez to see some recent video footage - he is now 70 and touring again.

'Sugar Man' is the first song on Cold Fact and is one that can just stick in your head - check it out.
