I'm sorry but this is a joke.
No way should he be playing.
Not up to AFL standard full stop and to play him is making a joke of every richmond player to date.

We will see. These types of players can suprise for a few games. It is when the opposition have worked them out that they falter.

Unfortunately, I don't think he is a medium term prospect let alone one for the future, but he has perservered and deserves a chance.

He won't and shouldn't be in the team next season, so one must ask, what's the point?

Although, I do not really care and having this not good enough footballer in the side has got my hopes up an earlier selection is a real possibility for us.

I can stomach it.

Just go with the flow Tb, we'll get smashed and it'll be the end of him.

A poster on here described him he was quick as a glacier, had a good chuckle.

Re: Big Cat to play this weekend

How about a bit of respect here!

Good on the bloke for sticking it out and getting to play at AFL level. Undoubtedly been a dream for him for a long time, and a lot of effort has gone into trying to achieve his goal. I hope he has a great day.

The people who want to be critical of him can think of their own outstanding footy careers in comparison I am sure. He is no world beater, but he doesn't deserve to be denigrated.

He might only play one game at senior level, but he should be acknowledged for his efforts, because amazingly enough, he has been putting in to try and play for our club, Richmond Football Club.

:hihi

Mate I am going with the flow, I have a sniff of a better draft pick. ;)

Good on him, great to put his name on the players board as playing a game for The Richmond Football Club....

Very, very, very well said Streak! You would think this site was populated by fans of the scum and filth with the vitriol that gets spewed at OUR players...

yeah he can join the other 100 odd fotballers from the 1100 odd who have managed just one game for the club.

Re: Big Cat to play this weekend

Good luck to the Cat.
Watch the backflip from some of these keyboard hero,s if he actually keeps kosi goalless ::)

Re: Big Cat to play this weekend

Meh.

I wouldn't have picked Sylvestor either. But the fact Jade wants to have a look doesn't have me throwing all the toys out of the cot either. And if you're going to have a look - why not see if Kosi tears him a new one??

Can't see this move working but we we do have to throw coal on the fire on this train! Chhoooooohooooo!!!

Agree. Test him out, see what he's got. If he's got what many expect, thanks for coming.

You reckon? I was trying to make sense of it. Have we really had 1100 odd footballers who only managed one game?

From what I make out of Claws writing he means the RFC has had 100 odd players who have played one game, out of the 1100 odd players (who have managed one game) in the competition.

Re: Big Cat to play this weekend

Look he's been selected, it will give him a taste of AFL and it will assist in whether he really wants to do the necessary hard yards to become a permanent AFL footballer, after all only he can decide that and do the work required.

Who know's the kid might just come out hard and do a good job, or he could get absolutely flogged and have a bag full of goals kicked against him. End of the day, he will sink or swim and RFC have to find out whether he can play at AFL level, before the season ends, obviously so they can finalise their list for next year and sort out their recruiting for the forthcoming draft.

No doubt, Post, Gourdis and others will also be given the opportunity to play AFL before season's end, again with RFC looking at who stays on the list, who goes and what the recruiters need to do with the draft choices they have at seasons end.

Re: Big Cat to play this weekend

Here's hoping the big cat does well.
BTW - if Jarrod wasn't selected, then who would we put on Kosi?
Thursty?
Moore?
Luke?

See the problem?

Re: Big Cat to play this weekend

Congratulations and Good Luck Sylvestor !
One game or 100, you'll forever be something I always dreamed of but never even got close, to be a Richmond Football Club player.

No I'd rather McGuane on him than Sylvestor.

Re: Big Cat to play this weekend

So Jade Rawlings let me understand this. Joel ( leading possesion getter, yardidge gainer, mark taker) Bowden is not good enough yet
Jarrod ( fast as a Richmond revival, versitile as a 6 x 4 trailer full of watermelons) Sylvestor is...... Right?
Oh my God Please make this pain STOP!!!!!

No doubt he'll play tighter.

Bowden is finishing up at years end. Let's see what others on the list have to offer.

What??

Your backing Jarrod Silvestor ability to play on a man ahead of Joel Bowden?

The one type Bowden plays well on are the bigger, true KP types.

Silvestor is not up to it and never was.
