Silvester (Merged)

Re: Big Cat to play this weekend

Post is not ready yet hasn't come alight for Coburg and needs a bit longer there. Slivester has been playing a good role for the burgs ala Presti at the pies. i will be interested to see if he can step up.

i see him as a similar type of player as Presti.

Re: Big Cat to play this weekend

Thanks for the info russel and congratulations to Jarrod. Eat 'em Alive.

Re: Big Cat to play this weekend

Tell me someone is extracting the urine.

Re: Big Cat to play this weekend

I can't see the fuss.

The remainder of the season needs to be used to make list decisions on players careers as much as anything else.

I couldn't see a match up for Kosi so I can at least understand thought process behind the selection of a big bodied defender.

This weekend he either gets beaten by his opponent and has a shocker or he does well and puts pressure on others who are struggling, to lift their games. it's unlikely to make much of a difference to the score.

Sure I can understand some of the angst re wanting to see Gourdis (inj?) or Post but unlike this bloke they've got time on their side.

Despite his well respected Coburg critics, I'm looking forward to seeing what Silvester has got on the big stage.

He's been tried and can't not even in the pre-season when players like that can shine.

The only issue I may have will depend on who he replaces.

Re: Big Cat to play this weekend

Silvester is better than Mcguane and Moore put together. Good luck to him. About time he got his chance.

Thanks ToO, saved me from writing all that.

:headscratch Hmm and here I was thinking you were an darksider rather than a fluffy bright sider.

Well said Oldie. We are light on for big bodied defenders, he is an obvious choice, size wise, lets see what he's got. What harm can come from seeing what he brings to the table.

I love the fact that Jade is trying something different and giving a few youngster opportunities they never got under wallace. :clap

Jade continues to send a loud and clear message, do your job at Coburg and you just might get a game.

Re: Big Cat to play this weekend

I can't believe so many negative comments about a player making his debut for the Mighty Tigers. At least give him a chance to pull his boots on before assasinating him.

Re: Big Cat to play this weekend

Freaking awesome. Great to see the forgotten Tiger finally crack it for a senior game. The premier VFL defender finally gets a chance to show his stuff on the main stage.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but he's the only player without a 2009 PRE President, right?

Silvester is getting a run this weekend.  May have been promoted as replacement for Johnson who has retired.
Good stuff for the kid who has been doing a good job playing for Coburg.

Meh!

Why not!

A bit like Nick Jewell.

At least he can say that he played 1 game with Richmond.

:clap

Makes you wonder though!

A new coach, a new player gets a go.
