In hindsight I think pick 32 was too much for this guy. Has to improve

To be perfectly honest I don't think we would have lost out on all that much if we'd left Hampson at Carlton and played Stephenson to fill Maric's boots so far this year. If we'd drafted another young project ruckman (Darcy Cameron?) with a rookie pick... sorted. And with another draft pick to add talent.

I know our guys made it pretty well known they didn't rate the draft pool last year but clubs like Collingwood and Geelong show time and time again that there's talent to be found in the later rounds of weak drafts if you look hard enough.

Fair points Stylo

I guess we could have followed the Hawks lead (given there is a lot of positive discussion at present on how well they trade in older players) and used our 2nd rounder last year on the player they picked last year with their second rounder instead of using it on Hampson. Even the Hawks role the dice and fail sometimes.

We did / do need goal kickers with pace.

disagree. I reckon O's inability to compete with Minson late in the game was very costly.
Hampson has struggled since he missed with injury and at this rate will be out of the team when Maric returns, but he is a lot better option against decent rucks than the big O.

Congratulation to Hampson and Meagan Gale on their birth of their child.

Caught something on SEN but not sure if it is a boy or girl.

Hope he has a ripper game as we will need him against Jamar.

Congratulations to Shaun on becoming a father!

Just heard. Well done to Hampo and Megs.

It's a boy so just another 30+ games from Hampo and we'll get a 212cm kid in 2033. ;D

My original point was not well expressed. If you kicked a long bomb to a pack of Hampson, Elton, Griffiths, Jack and Vickery - Vickery would push Jack in the back and lurk; Elton might mark it, despite the air of the other two. Griffiths might vault the pack and take a chest mark. Hampson would usually get more air and get in the way.

Ivan would hold the space around him and smart athletes would sag off and run at the air ball, leaving him well under the catch or spoil.

Sweet Liam would clutch the pig skin at its highest point, mutter a Hail Mary in advance for being a lair, then play on and snap one from the boundary for kicks.

And heal the half-blind kid on the fence with a high five.

I can't remember the rules, but don't the 60+ with previous side count as 100 games in career?

Father son is only for 100 games with the same club.

Could he cure Joffa? Or does he only help those who aren't beyond redemption?

OK, so Hampo's young enough to play another 4-5 seasons with us. At least Schmarlton can't claim his kid.

yes, but do we need a good looking small arse type for us in 18years time that we'd be willing to keep the hamster, who is now ranked below Tux, on our list for 5 more years ?

Going by our history in negotiating deals, a 5 year contract is imminent....
