It's not just his seven game Tigers career people are thinking about, why compare him to Griff.
Hamster is 25 / 26 years old and has been in the system long enough to be in his peak years. A handfull of hit outs per game and stuff all other input into the game is pretty poor from a bloke who has been thrown the career life line.
What's the Hamster actually going to be doing when the Eevan returns besides part time tap ruck? So far he's shown a hell of a lot less around the ground than a 22 year old Griffinator.
From my perspective, once Eevan is fit we'd be better off with Griff as his support ruck.

Bingo!!! well said TM, agree wholeheartedly :clap

In hindsight I think pick 32 was too much for this guy. Has to improve

I know our guys made it pretty well known they didn't rate the draft pool last year but clubs like Collingwood and Geelong show time and time again that there's talent to be found in the later rounds of weak drafts if you look hard enough.

It was to high a price and ur 2nd point geez we hear it every year but clubs who stick with their pics all the way up to the 60/70's seem to pick up a gem, u wont get them all right but if u do ala Langdon and Fasolo of a few years back surely gives the team that added depth...

Maric was a good get @ 37 in that we knew he could play, 2nd in contested marks and had a good motor, Hampson with all his deficiencies that most knew bout and also we knew bout his very good tap work but that should not be enough to hand over pic 32 for a player with so many glaring deficiencies.....

The irony of using Langdon and Fasolo as examples when the Pies used Pick 14 on Cam Wood is very juicy.

Cam wood was a shocking pic but that was 7 years ago, no way could u see the pies doing that again, us on the other hand have done it again first with McMahon in 2007 @ pic 19 :veryupset and now again with pic 32 Hampson...Ohh the irony :hihi

The Hamster has not yet proven to be a bust or inspired pick yet IMO. 7 games in and he's had an injury as well. He was becomign a father for the first time and his father died.

It would be prudent to give it a bit more time before calling the trade now.

Baloo its not like his 20 yrs old, been in the system long enough (in his 8th year) even at Carlton his own fans bagged him for dropping easy marks and think we all know he cant kick to save himself....Im not sure what u expect or others will he suddenly be taking big contested marks, will he run all over the ground to give us options, im calling it now and its not only for the 7 games its what we knew before we got him and i also acknowledged his very good tap work but he doesn't have the tricks to make it thats my whole argument...

Yes he had his child a few days back :clap congrats to shauan & megan and losing a parent at a youngish age is unfathomable to think...

You're a more astute judge than I am if you can call it after 7 games despite the injury, learnign to play with a new team, dealing with a couple of major personal issues. I need more time.

It would be amusing to read the comments on the Maric to Tigers thread before he played a game for us. From memory he was a bigger certified did than the hamster ever was.

I've widely acknowledged his great tap work but lamented his marking and lack of around the ground work thats what i mean cant see him getting better at that, can he? time will tell but i just cant see it....

On Maric he was 2nd for contested marks at Adelaide and he had a good motor, his kicking was fine, he had the attributes and has brought all that to Richmond....Anyways we'll leave it there think we've well n trully covered this topic....

Just wondering if Shaun might ask the coach for a weekend off to celebrate the birth of little RAT Hamster ( are those things related :don't know ).
We could run a cheeky rotating RUCK / CHF combo of Plasma n Griffinator against the Dees and get a decent view of whether potential could evolve into possible.

Obviously congrats to both Megan n Shaun on the safe arrival of the little carpet beetle.

Jamar is in some very good form since returning from injury.

Do people seriously think having a pregnant wife would affect a players form?

I think the impending arrival of your first child would definitely have your mind on other things. It's a very big moment for a father.

The add in a Meagan Gale with Baby Boobies and there is even more reason for the hamster to be distracted.

Have always been a fan baloo but this is exceptionally good.
Megan's udders would be fantastic.
And yes Rosie it would effect a new dad.
Scatterbrain to the extreme.
Not only that, didn't his dad die recently?? If so he has run the full extreme of human emotions. I'm sure footy seems irrelevant.

Are we really discussing Megan's 'udders" and "baby boobies"? Oh dear......

No I don't think it was a discussion. I think I merely agreed that megans breasts would be distracting.
I fail to see the problem.

No problem, I thought Shaun's testicles would be distracting.......
