Shaun recorded 3 seconds flat for the 20 metre sprint at the camp, coupled with an 86 cm vertical leap. For a 201 cm ruckman, that was astonishing, and placed him in the top 5% of players tested. It was all too promising to resist, so Carlton’s recruiting panel called his name at the appropriate moment, and Hampson became a Blue

The good news for Shaun is that the expectations on here appear to be so low that any sort of good performance will be met with universal joy!

Tried looking for this stat but can't find it. Judging only by the highlights package on the RFC website, he does seem to be a very good tap ruckman. L2RTR - are you able to put up his stats for hit outs to advantage and compare to other ruckman in the league? Thanks in advance if you do manage to put these up.
He's a very good ruckman
Don't listen to the doom and gloom guys on here.
Very little difference between kreuzer, warnock and hampson.
Hampson also gives us extra flexibility up forward.

Another snippet from my carlton mate, an astute follower of the game (if thats not an oxymoron for carlton supporters) is that shaun hampson is in the quickest if not the quickest at the club over 50-100m. Some quick little guys at carlton so not a bad effort.

Well we may be a show at the GF sprint next year then.

I'm not sure Dimma will let him leave the changerooms at half time to compete in the sprint.

I don't think the megan gale joke has been overplayed at all...she's overrated compared to other supermodels!

Not so sure about that. Shaun and Megan will both look awesome in Tigers gear. He even looks impressive in old dark navy blue which is extremely hard to do at the best of times.

Get the rose colourds off Baloo......Hampson is not in my 22 for the GF.
Jacko wasn't on most people's list for the first 22 most weeks of the season yet he won a BnF. Plenty of the Blair Witch selections in recent seasons have had us cursing n bleating but have been pretty damn usefull.
My initial reaction to the Hamster is that we've paid overs, but I'm only a keyboard expert. Eevans groins may be fairly dodgy n he may not have a long future if we keep smashing 80% ruck into him. Clubs filled a hole n they can leave T.V. permanent forward with Jaaack, plus allow the Beanie to develop gradually. So the Hamster appears to be a conservative logical progression at modest dollars n mid range selection?????? Guess we'll have to wait n see.

Sorry, haven't got these at my fingertips. Pro Stats only recorded them to the end of 2011, before they were stopped by Champion Data's legal action. Here's a few pulled out at random, but bear in mind they're only up to the end of 2011:

Hampson 163/687 = 23.7%
Minson 350/1447 = 24.2%
Maric 263/1237 = 21.3%
Naitanui 189/944 = 20.0%
Cox 960/4059 = 23.7%
Goldstein 312/1317 = 23.7%
Warnock 233/995 = 23.4%
Kreuzer 217/998 = 21.7%
Sandilands 839/3730 = 22.5%
Griffin 157/667 = 23.5%
Jamar 413/1897 = 21.7%

Edit: Looking more closely, there are no HOtA recorded for 2010, so these are a bit useless. Hampson's figure is actually 163/577 = 28.2%

Some pretty good company there, the big question is how his body will cope with rigours of full-time rucking. His best season was 15 games in 2012, we are obviously banking on a higher return, let's just hope the due diligence was thorough.
