If he had any morals he'd retire.
How much have we paid him! $1 million or more? Great for him, p!sspoor outcome for us right from the start, and it has never changed. How he can collect his salary defies belief, I hope he only gets a pro rata amount when out injured or playing in the ressies

Not sure why the hatred for Hampson.
Plan A has Nank playing all season without injury - but we've got to have Plans B, C etc just in case.
And what if Soldo and/or Chol also get injured at some stage.
We still need backup - it's the insurance policy argument.

We started improving as a club when we stopped recruiting for insurance.

or we stopped recruiting for insurance when we had improved enough that we already had our own insurance.

not that Hampson was recruited as insurance. we thought he would play 3rd tall forward/2nd ruck back when a true 2nd ruck playing forward was in vogue.

Currently Hampson is plan E -
Nankervis
Soldo
Chol
CCJ
Balta
Moore

Hampson will have back issue's all year when required 'As Usual'

Definitely this year, but at the time we recruited him we did need a second ruck option, as Eervan wasn't getting any younger and there was not much else in the reserves. Hampson wasn't the perfect choice but we needed someone, it was just unfortunate that he played for the scum and we had to cough up a second round pick to get him.

I am no fan, but at the time I could understand why we picked him up 3 years ago. He did play a number of games in 2016 that were quite serviceable, but we performed quite poorly that year, so its probably not a coincidence. Nank the Tank is much more refreshing as a ruckman than Hammer could ever be.

No hatred. Just a disappointing decision at the time and still hasn't been proved an astute decision in any way shape or form. 5 years on our list for 30 odd games. And we gave up a 2nd round pick. And paid him excess of $1million + for the privilege.
I'd have rather picked up a decent state league ruckman. A Sam Baulderstone or a Russ Gabriel or just someone 200cm from elsewhere

After being scammed with Yarran and Hampson we never deal with that 'lot' again.

They'll say they owed us. We gave them that spud Andy Collins in return for our Premiership #2 Ruckman Shaun Grigg

Understood - but that's then and this is now.
I'm just conscious of the fact (or risk) right now we're we are only an unfortunate injury to Nank away from needing a replacement ruckman - in which case Hampson might be required.

Listening to Dimmas press conference today, sounds like Hampson is third in line behind Soldo.

Soldo very close to selection apparently.

Flea said on Wednesday night that Soldo was next in line and that we would be playing a 2nd tall at times throughout the year.

This I've gotta see. Soldo the Saviour must have gone under a really quick transformation to be 2nd in ruck.

dimma in fact said today that nank would move forward, therefore soldo would be no 1 ruck

Dont know how much Bias is involved by Maric but was speaking with him tuesday before the crows game (i was having lunch in swan st and he was there)
Asked him about Soldo and how he is travelling and when he may be contending with Nank for the #1 Ruck spot

His answer was he is probably 2-3 years away from being the #1 Ruckman but he is developing extremely well and id getting better every game and that he is one of the strongest players he has seen and really wants to make it and he will get there - That was extremely pleasing to hear

If you saw the VFL last week he was well ahead of cHampson and Chol. The cHamp is still probably short of a gallop but even then Soldo is the one on an upward curve.
