And he won’t retire despite his body being cooked and him occupying a list spot, was more my point.

sorry , still dont get it, if he retired today it would have no effect on list or $

He's been cooked since last season? If he had retired last year, we'd have freed up a list spot/cap space? Instead he played on and we're basically paying him to run laps out of the goodness of our hearts.

Quite possible, depending on how contracts for all players are loaded, that advance paying him out of this years contract money would have pushed us over the cap last year. Could also be that we were hoping his back would recover to the point where he could play footy this year and be an emergency back up if Nank got hurt.

Not sure exactly how it works but I'm sure that if a players career is cut short due to injury he's entitled to an injury payout of about 50% of his last years salary, so we will still probably be up for some shekels next year even if he's finished.

Played in the VFL Grand Final

Clearly he was kept as insurance but his back issues put paid to him being able to cover this year. Thankfully Nanks has avoided injury. Our ruck stocks are bare. I wasn't one who cared for his recruitment but it's pretty obvious why we made a decision to keep him for another year at the end of last year.

And what could that mean? Sad what you have been reduced to, BT. Just snide little attempts at a cheap shot ... meaning zilch.

:hihi

Hope when Hampson is delisted or retires he takes the other spud with him, Both add nothing

Well, in my case, at least some brain cells and literacy skills. Love a good spud BTW, Grigga's business doing very well out of them.

Re Hammer, have no knowledge at all on where he's at but forecast late last year, he's probably done. Club is releasing nothing. TM spelt it out well why the club would have kept him for those who can read. Think Griff is still on the payroll too, right? *smile* happens.

He signed on for another two years after his 2016 season.

So did he sign a contract that RFC offered him? I expect he didn't twist Balmy's arm up his back or pull a gun, or even bring Jakey in for 'negotiations.'

He had injections last year that really helped his back, however the injections ( could be quaterzone ?) only last a certain time before they become ineffective or something like that , I’d say his just about done.

If he’s willing to be an insurance option come finals, the same treatment could be an option again, as his tolerance would have subsided.

Not sure if my tolerance has subsided of his goalkicking though.

Jeepers Leon, i was just informing tigerlove that we didn't give him another year at the end of last year and that he signed on for another two years at the end of 2016.

Two of our talls retired before the season is out. Doubt that would have happened to too many teams in the past.
