I know highlight packages can be deceiving but I just had a look at Hampson's from the 6 games he played in 2013 on the rfc site and he looked ok.
There were some great pieces of ruck work. I read somewhere he was amongst the top ruckman in the league for hits to advantage.
I know he misses some easy goals but if we can straighten up his kicking a bit we may have done alright.
 
Good golly. Had to pick up the paper just to check the date. Thought I was back to the hey days of Frawley and co. You know.....the ones in which we traded away our picks for stars like biddiscombe! Dimma getting desperate. Now Carlton have offloaded 2 duds to us. Scary thing is this bloke is softer and a bigger did than Grigg. If you want a long contract just for being a nice guy come on down.

Cannot believe people are OK with this when we have just lost a player who finally found his form because we refused to give him a 2 year contract for nothing!!!! Hope you enjoyed your finals appearance as it will be a long time before we play another.
 
Why are so many people shitty?

Is it because we gave a high pick or is he a *smile* player? Or both?

Was this the only chioce we had of picking up a ruck man?

Let me explain. Hawks who just won a premiership are going after a young ruckman that is highly rated. We on the other hand rushed into giving up our 2nd round pick for a dud of the highest order.

Welcome to Punt Rd Shaun. Hope you've brought a thick skin with you. From what I've seen of the highlights package you'll be a good ruckman for us. Pick 28 may seem a bit of a high price to pay, but we want another ruckman next year, not it 4 or 5 years time.
 
Ok negative *smile* from me has finished..positives no one in the comp will match up on him when pushes forward .monster..will give maric much needed rest tap work first rate .big o not much footy left derix is a dud.. at least have a ready made ruckman to help ivan any more positives from others please post

What dud's? All our recent recruits are needs driven & all have played a role to some degree whether providing depth or becoming core players.

Question for you: How does a team that continually tops up with duds, and apparently has a dud coach, rise from the worst team since Fitzroy to a 15-7 record in 3 and a half years?

A lot of 'experts' were critical of us targeting Ivan Maric although few will admit to it now.

I willing to back our football department and give the big fella a chance.

Wouldn't say they are massive overs...Longer was a pick 8 and has had 2 years in the system.

Having said that, I will back our recruiting staff to do well in the draft with at least our 1st pick.

I was one who was critical. Just couldn't see what Maric was going to bring.

It makes interesting reading to compare their stats in the year before coming to Richmond, 2011 for Maric and 2013 for Hampson.

I am surprised we parted with a 2nd rounder but lets judge at the end of the trade period and in the future.

I get so tired of the constant ratings of the "experts" who think its a game of supercoach.

Is it March yet?
