Nah, he gets a great number of hit outs to advantage ......and he also ......nah, I got nothing

Hampson was putrid early, but was beating Grundy by the end of the game. My kingdom for a dominant ruckman...

I thought he presented well. Another thing he did well, and yes it should be expected was guard the goal line at both ends.

He deserves another contract. Although I would still bring in another ruck to our list.

Typical Hampson game. Wins the hitouts, many ineffective but non-existent around the ground in the first half. Didn't trouble the statistician other than 3 frees against. Was better in the 2nd half. Was absolutely smashed by Grundy in the first half.

Hampy stats: 7 disposals (3k & 4hb) @ 86%DE (qrt by qrt: 0,0,2,5) 75m gained, 3 marks, 33 HO (7 HOTA) @ 21%. 73% Gametime.

Grundy: 19 disposals, 17 HO (4 HOTA) @ 23.5%, 6 marks

I keep saying it but to have this spud being on the ground for 3/4 of the game and following the ball around and only disposing it 7 times (mostly 5m handballs to the guy standing next to him) is akin to playing one down. Yep, for the millionth time he gets great hit outs but a modern day ruck has to do more than just that.

I thought Hammer gave Grundy a tapwork clinic after 1/4 time, which is when we started getting clearances. took a few good grab and touched one on the line.

basically played a solid ruckmans game. Turning out better than Jordan Mcmahan IMHO

Got some nice air in a couple of contests as well. Set up Marcon's goal, crashing the pack.

Cymbals is now clunking marks and kicking the ball with reasonably efficiency to go with his tap work. Well done.

Only took 3 marks all night. He misses way too many easy marks. Yeah he touched the ball on the line as any ruckman would/should. Zero disposals to half time and 3 frees against. I don't know how anyone can describe that as a solid ruckman's game. Maybe in the 1940s.

I just thunk it, and tapped the keys.

nothing wrong with the 1940's
