whats the chance he knocks one towards our goal every now and again.

He gave us nothing in the last 10 min as the Bulldogs had worked him out.

Griffiths would have been a better option.

Look, he's getting better no doubt, he's competing more, making less errors too but sheesh, still nowhere near the answer.

8 disposals (2, 1, 5, 0) 2k, 6hb, @ 50% DE, 50 metres gained, 2 marks, 45 HO @ 31% HOTA.

Roughead: 11 disposals @ 63% DE,, 263 metres gained, 4 marks, 13 HO @ 28% HOTA.

I just can't work out why our midfielders aren't getting more clearances from him. To the naked eye it's obvious that he wins most taps easily. It's not like Chimpy and Miles don't know how to rove.

I wonder if a change in stoppage coach is the answer. Get everyone on the same page.

On a seperate note at least his cymbal hands are hanging onto to a couple more marks each week.

I was watching him last night. He,s clearly just wanting to "win" the hit out. By that I mean he's just concerned about getting his hand first to the ball. He doesn't care who or where he hits it to.

Because his hitouts go no where. Hampson doesn't have the hand eye coordination to know where he's putting it. It's luck of the draw.

Hitouts to advantage has to be the biggest false stat going around. You can get one hitting it to the feet of your teammate who's swarmed and has to fumble it which is the Hampson special. The only really hitout to advantage is one that clears the surrounding players for someone to run on to it and clear congestion. Otherwise it's s 50-50 ball.

Unless your ruck does something around the ground he's useless.

Yeah, the Dogs midfielders were reading him like a book later in the game. He was better than Maric and sadly he's the best option we have at present. Took a couple of strong contested grabs.

Defiantly improved, bloody low base to start from though. Like the fact we don't get smashed in the ruck contests with him there, teams are so good now at set ups in the middle, especially with a defensive mind set, it's pretty rare to get a clean disposal with a bit of space . Definitely the mids need to build a better chemistry with Hammer as you'd have to think he'll be our number 1 ruck again next year. It's good too see he is atleast having some impact around the ground now.

Upgrade would be nice, but don't think it will be happening this year

Much like when Patto was our first ruck, the opposition are roving to Hampson's tap work. They expect him to him and place themselves around to win it.

It's more an issue with out midfield than The Hampster

I wasn't at the game, but using the stats, he had 14 HOTA to the other bloke's 4. Sounds significant.

Depends on how many of the 31 other hit outs went to a Bulldog. I wish they included Hit Outs To Disadvantage to give a true indication of performance.
