Comparing Hampson with Gawn? Surely not. Gawn only had 14 disposals but he had 8 tackles, 4 inside 50s, 6 clearances, 9 contested possies. He's a machine. I can't imagine how much better we'd be if we had Gawn playing instead of Hampson.

Try responding to the whole post in its full context. This comparison has already been made by many besides myself, and is actually being made again here, negatively, by you. Any ruck in the AFL can be compared with another. At look at many of my prior posts would have enabled you to see I hailed Gawn as the likely next No.1 AFL ruck. Clearly superior to Hampson. But tell me, from amongst our current stocks, whom would you nominate to best play against him, if say we were playing them next week?

Look at the whole post. Which team did beat the Swans, who had the recently-lauded Tippet playing against them? Whereas not against Gawn for Swans match, who consequently dominated, but team still didn't get close?

My post was in the context of the role and influence of rucks and their connection to clearances.

Hammer is getting better. 3 Ok marks to go with 6 possessions at 50% DE, won the hitouts and lost the clearances as usual.

And some Hampson magic missing the unmissable goal from a loose ball in the goal square.

The attempted back heel flick on the line was pretty quick thinking though. replay inconclusive.

bloody hell he wins a lot of taps that don't go to our players. Surely it can't be all Hammer's fault.

Our midfielders need to get on the same page as our ruckman. Is Lade our midfield coach? What are we training down there?

6 disposal (3&3) @ 50% DE. 50 metres gained, 4 marks, 1 tackle, 27 HO with 7 HOTA (26%)

Martin: 23 disposals @ 70% DE, 232 metres gained, 4 marks, 1 goal, 21 HO with 8 HOTA (38%)

Are we serious? This proves this club just wants to be where it is.
He is a doofus. He is no better then the previous ruckman we have had.

We have another ruckman?

Surprised how much of the footy Martin got

What is Hampson's injury? And how long is he suspected to be sidelined?
Tweaked inside of right knee, there hopeful he'll be ok, having scans could be a strain and miss a few with his history. Makes it intresting for next week against Port, last time we played the 2 rucks thinking would dominate the clerences with them not having a genuine ruck, shocking move

Not surprised at Hampys low possession tally. Averages 7.5 a game and that's not good enough for a bloke that follows the ball around his entire time on the ground.

I actually didn't think I'd ever say this, but I'm hoping he's okay for next week. Seemed noticeable that we dropped when Ty went into the ruck. Hammer took some decent contested grabs yesterday and got in a couple of nice spoils, too. Part of us getting first use out of the centre was because Brisbane were poor, but Hampson appeared to win most hitouts pretty convincingly.

Pulled Ivvy before the ressies game today so I reckon the club might be fearful the Hamster won't get up for Port. Would be nothing left in the ruck if Ivvy tweaked something today.
At this point in time a Griff n Ty ruck combo would be fairly inept so the club trying to protect it's arse a bit.
