I dont know if anyone has noticed but our clearance work has been diabolical this year.

Last week we had 8 inside 50s in the first half.

However Hampson "competes".

FMD!

Why are we going OK in goals from stoppages then? We beat the crows easily in that stat as we did with Pies & Blues. Clearance stats against the eagles show 34 to WC and 33 to us. CC were 14-13 to them. Stoppages 23-20. Not a massacre. Yet we were.

Been killed on turnovers in most games which I assume has nothing to do with Hampson (because he rarely gets it).

It's not stoppages that are killing us. It's poor ball movement, overuse of handball, poor decision making and back half panicking from the likes of houli that's killing us.

I respect your post Dusty D but sometime you have to trust your eyes and we have laboured to clear the ball and Hammer seems to be putting our mids on the back foot. And remember his clearance work is supposedly his good bits. Everything else is pretty much horrible.

The difference in our VFL side with Ivan rucking is startling. That should be something we and the coaches should take note of.

Well posted, Dusty, spot-on but according to Lambchops your eyes are tricking you!! He thinks Hampson out will totally transform this team and these continuous weaknesses will just disappear.

I have always argued that Eevan is definitely our best all-round ruckman. There's no doubt about that just on his record since arriving at RFC. One of the few winning trade-ins. I also argued that Hampson is the only other option we have, except maybe Griffiths, but he again has serious issues. TV is a joke and Bean probably not up to being first ruck FALT.

I've posted elsewhere that it is really fortunate we did not play IM in Perth. Lost SH, but at least Ivan should come in so we have a chance to beat Dees. Not that I'm full of confidence.

But Ivan will really compete around the ground and throw himself in. Whether he can really match 208cm Gawn, much younger and heavier (I'd expect), is asking too much. Gawn will run past him, should be jumping all over him at the CBs and in marks around the ground. I wonder how much longer Ivan can last.

Hampson is probably the worst footballer to play the game this century.

Any argument he should play before any one else on our list is ludicrous.

BTW Vickery and Griffiths are miles better footballers than Shaun despite their documented weaknesses.
And both Vickery and Griffith are one head knock away from being concussed into retirement
No small thing to be hanging over their careers
Hampson is in some ways our most viable backup at present
He won early taps vs NicNat until taken out with a corky, ok start, we need two viable rucks every week

Backed ourselves into a corner with this guy.
Wonder if anyone at the club is going to ask the question why?

Seems we're obliged to play him to justify the second rounder we gave up. Each time he gets injured you can hear the sigh of relief from the selection panel

Exactly. If he was a rookie pick he'll either be in the VFL or sent packing by now.

By the way, don't believe that crap about "No Deledio, no Richmond." Most of the games that Deledio has missed over the last three seasons have coincided with Maric also being out and Hampson being in.

Get him out, never to return.

Won 6 lost 13 when we have had Hamspon playing. We seem to not play near as well when we have him and not Maric. Hit outs have always been one of the most overrated stats in my book. Im much more interested in ruckmen who are able to generate clearances by tackling hard and clearing a path for the midfielders (Mummy), or who provide an outlet around the ground (Goldstein, Gawn). Hampson does neither of these unfortunately imo.

Agree.

He's still in the side?
Wasn't he cooked before half time last week?

Megan must have done wonders with the Tiger balm!!! :hihi

Would doubt he could recover from a severe corkie in time to play this match, but sure Megan's attentions could do wonders.

Seriously, cannot play him, Maric and Vickery. Expect he will be pulled out with Ivan to ruck and TV to supposedly provide TF support for Jack.

Good luck battling Max Gawn, Ivan.

Hampson is in no form to be getting attention from models, least of all one he's married to.

Agreed.

We had the same problem with Miller. These girls need to lift.

No way, evo. It's time these sheilas stopped accepting mediocrity.

Get a *smile* kick, Hampered! Belt somebody. Maybe even stab someone. Then you might deserve to get blown.

We need a football Lysistrata at Richmond. Our hairdos get it too good. *smile* hairdos.
