Are you for real?

Go and read a few other posters on the TV thread if you want realism.

Have little respect for Cometti but even he commented on Hampson competing well against NN (compared to others I think he meant). But he appears to know something about the game, not just able to read a stats sheet!

Watch the video of him on the RFC website after training yesterday. Moved well and says himself he's feeling good and fit.

Most of those website vidz are feelgood propaganda. Meaningless twaddle.

What world do you live in? Hampson played a quarter, bit of 2nd on one leg. NN full game. Did you even watch it? Got injured late last week but played tonight hoping to get through probably because Maric not ready yet, and there's no-one else.
Hampy had his 1 disposal in 32% TOG. NN had his 16 disposals, 3 marks and 36 HOs in 66% TOG.

Umpiring was almost as atrocious as us, but Hampson got a raw deal on some infringements.

Yeh it was bizarre. Nic Nat twice just pulled Hampson aside from behind and no free whilst Hampson got pinged for all manner of things.

Umpiring was beyond bad. Unfortunately it has no bearing on the result, just increased the frustration.

Constantly injured. Was playing inj. But kept getting picked. Limping around never sprinting Why???

Cause we have no rucks. Maric is a cripple himself these days and was unavailable due to injury and lack of pre-season. Vickery doesn't want to ruck, he prefers peeling of packs into the goal square to get easy goals from the work of others. Griffiths is like a retired movie star, makes cameo appearances every now and then. Our ruck stocks have been depleted for a long time and we have done nothing about it.

You gotta compete, that's the minimum required of a ruckman. Hampson did, Vickery didn't.
Fair enough. But Hampy "competing" just isn't good enough. Never has been, never will be.

Agree. He's not the best ruckman we have but for now he's giving it all he has. Credit to him.

Richmond, where close enough is good enough. Hampson is just so ordinary and made of glass. FFS why we do accept this level of mediocrity

It's Bizzarro land here. Let's commend his "competitiveness" with his 1 possession. Then compare him not with an acceptable standard but find some one may have competed less than him....makes sense to me......

Meanwhile other clubs work with the quality of Goldstein or Gawn or Mumford or Martin or Sandilands or some other quality ruck but Hampy is good coz he "competes"... What is this under 10's?

Nobody said Hampson was good. He played less than half a game, under duress. It's not fair to condemn him on that performance. If we can't get him right, fine, get rid of him.

Obviously we'd like a dominant ruckman but there aren't many around. But Hampson's replacement needs to compete far better than Vickery.

Agree. Hampson arguably beat Jacobs the week before. He competed better than I thought he was capable of. He's the best option outside of Ivan, vickery showed that.

Hampson is probably the worst footballer to play the game this century.

Any argument he should play before any one else on our list is ludicrous.

BTW Vickery and Griffiths are miles better footballers than Shaun despite their documented weaknesses.
