Is he? Do the same rules apply to mature age draftees as the younger ones? Bit of a stuff up if they do, because there's been very little from the coaching group to indicate that they have any indication of playing him much in the future.buenavista said:Anyone consider that he is still contracted next year?

Oh dear! I don't actually dislike him, but I think that the coaching group have stamped his papers.buenavista said:Was signed with a 2 year contract, contracted until the end of 2015
tigertim said:I don't mind him either but it's not a good sign for a mature ager drafted in the ND to not be getting a game when we,re going so badly. Same for Gordon.
And that takes us back as to why we drafted 2 guys (well certainly Lloyd) in the ND when he probably would have been there in the rookie draft.buenavista said:You are right there, these are not rookies players and like a "box of chocolates" these are guys targeted and contracted to the seniors!
Yeah, the whole idea with drafting these types is that they come straight into the seniors and can use their mature bodies, while you protect the younger guys in the VFL and bring them in gradually as you think they are physically ready to play a few games with the big boys. The RFC seems to have become obsessed with trying to find hidden 'gems' and forgotten about drafting and developing youth beyond their first pick. I appreciate that in some of the compromised drafts this wasn't possible, but last year wasn't anywhere near as badly compromised and we still only took 1 kid and traded for a Carlton reject that in hindsight has been a mistake. MUST draft kids this year, not journeymen like Lloyd.buenavista said:You are right there, these are not rookies players and like a "box of chocolates" these are guys targeted and contracted to the seniors!
