We should just keep him. He's worth more than Pick 62(?) to us as a good quality, experienced, versatile mid/forward who can step in for a range of players as depth. With Conca, Miles, CEllis, Stengle and, who knows who else, gone or going, I'd argue we really need him. He will potentially get more games now with any reasonable injury projections.

Will be even more handy up forward with big Tom providing more crumbs.
With you 100%

We have already lost Ellis, Miles and Conca so who steps up if we have to tap depth?

I reckon he would now be the first pick if we get injuries and he could justify first choice selection in a lot of games. I have a lot of faith in our footy dept but I nervously wait to see what plan B is now that we've offloaded most of our depth

Shame we don't have a third round pick because I think Lloyd and our third for Footscrays third would be the right price.

We gave it to Geelong last year for reasons I’m still not clear on.

Part of the Caddy deal...?

Or part of the Deledio move to GWS somehow...?

Think we wanted points for Naish last year so we basically cashed in our 3rd rounder a year early.

He pretty much always performed when given the chance, so its a shame he's leaving. Will do well at the dogs. I'll tip play 20 games and kick 30+ goals next year.

that's what I tipped also Tames.
and I also reckon he will finish top 15 in B&F.

we should be getting something decent for him from the doggie !!

Very sad to lose Sam.
Wish we had kept him.
Such an honest, dedicated footballer.

We will miss his accurate kicking, marking and genial personality around the Club.
Pace is not everything when you are a natural forward.
Good luck Sammy!

I wonder if a deal of Sam for Jordan Roughhead & a late pick is an option.

Wouldn't mind that at all. Would like further back-up for Nank although don't rate Roughhnead as much of a ruckman. But he's handy down back and would like to have a much taller selection option (200cm) to combat the super-tall forwards - the likes of Cox, Dixon, Lobb etc.

I trust the footy dept is working on whatever the best deal is that they can get.

Haven't seen or heard much definite about Lloydy.
Thought we'd come to the conclusion here that he was going.
Any more info around?

I’m hearing that the Lloyd and Stengle trades will definitely happen and we are keen to not get ripped off in these deals. All in the fullness of time.

Hope your source is right.

Alex Fasolo joined Carlton as an unrestricted free agent. Collingwood got pick 57 as compensation. Meanwhile Richmond sent Corey Ellis, Anthony Miles and a future third round pick to the Suns for a future third round pick!!

I'd rate each of these former players of ours as being of at least the equal or better of Fasolo (given recent AFL games, age, injury history/problems).

Clearly extra good will to GCS for the deal and not matching.
