Interesting. My source says he is guaranteed to be staying at the club.
When he gives me a guarantee on something, you can take it to the bank he might be staying.
Fishing is going well.... :)

Any news on what we can expect for Lloyd?

Will go down to the last few days of trading IMO when the Dogs know what picks they have left after higher priority trades? They won't give us their 3rd round pick 45, they have pick 62 and 63 after that so at this stage think it will be one of those.

Sounds about right mate.

I reckon Sam Lloyd is worth more than pick 62 or 63

He’s an out of contract, fringe, soon to be 29 year old.

Up against it to get more than pick 62 or 63.

geez I reckon pick 45 is more than reasonable.

Me too. If they don't want to part with their pick 45, they will need to incorporate a player into the deal. Marcus Adams wants out, can we nab him? Big bodied defender/mid

for someone who will play every game next year (mid and fwd) and prob kick you over 35 goals, pick 45 is fair.
he will prob finish in their top 15 B&F.
pick 62 no way, they want him they gotta pay decently!

We should just keep him. He's worth more than Pick 62(?) to us as a good quality, experienced, versatile mid/forward who can step in for a range of players as depth. With Conca, Miles, CEllis, Stengle and, who knows who else, gone or going, I'd argue we really need him. He will potentially get more games now with any reasonable injury projections.

Will be even more handy up forward with big Tom providing more crumbs.

Unfortunately he's already made his mind up to go to the Dogs according to his manager.

And he's out of contract so its not like we can ignore the request either.

Maybe, but I think we could turn that around with a fair deal - matching? - and a bit of encouragement from Dimma and the boys. Who is going to take Conca's spot for starters? Who is more ready to go - Lloyd or Bolton/Baker?

Pick 60 or not time to move him on. Will not be a regular starter if he stays and being on the slow side another year older and that is only going to get worse. Would rather persist with Baker and Bolton as backup/depth and get games into them.

Yeah, that is what I think too. We know what he will give us. He is slow and not exactly a big-bodied midfielder. One more contract and that will be it for Sammy, unfortunately. I would rather give the spot to a younger, quicker bigger player. I am sure there is one out there somewhere.

We debuted the least new players in the competition in 2018, so for the club’s long term future it’s imperative for us to find some younger players who can produce as much as Lloyd would in 2019 anyway.

They’ll find someone.

Yep agree. I love Lloydy but at 29yo with not a lot of pace his time is nearly up anyway. The way we've successfully used our lower pick in the draft we may end up with a solid player. Nathan Broad 67 in 2015, Graham 53 in 2016, Ben Miller 63 last year.

Garthwaite at 72

Same. 45 is great value for the Dogs. Good business for them and actually for us as well.
