Rucking Hell

RFC were one of the two clubs mentioned today as being in the US currentky looking at prospective rucks in the US screening. Apparently a giant Frenchman (212.3cm) whom is in his last year of NCAA basketball impressed hugely.

Pretty big. I look forward to Luke Darcy saying 'all 212.3 cm of him' everytime he gets the ball.

Zac Clarke is really the only obvious ruckman of any note out there and being a Melbourne boy would be very gettable. he is a cracking athlete and with way the game is moving a ruckman who can cover the ground is invaluable.

I am sure he has some downsides but we need a ready to go ruckman before anything else. Without one any list rebuild will never truely work.

Saw this on the news yesterday and from the footage shown this bloke moved like Harry Madden and had no idea about how to kick the ball. Pass for me.

There's gotta be another Mummy around the country somewhere if you look hard enough.

I've no doubt we will grab a project American ruck. We are that desperate we need to exploit every loophole.

I saw a 203 cm 100kg powerhouse, ran a 2.86 over the 20 & had a running vertical of 354 cm. Amazing.

We can't recruit outside the front of punt rd, we have no chance.
How long will Cox hang around before he becomes homesick? No big deal.

I'm not sure its desperate, just looking at other options. A lot of the best rucks seem to be picked with low picks or rookie picks anyway, so why not an International rookie. Some of these American guys are amazing athletes and to be fair surely some of them can kick the ball better than Hampson!!

Witts. He loves it at Collingworth, but if Cox keeps him out, he might be persuaded to cross Olympic Blvd.

Would fit in well then. Hampson moves like Harry Madden and Vickery like Paul Salmon. There is a real vintage feel to our ruck stocks.

Until we get a ruck beast rotate Vickery, Griff and Beanie through ruck forward and hurt them forward and hopefully in quality ball use around the ground.

Unfortunately given this week's selections Hardwick is about as far away from this thinking as one can be.

They'll spend 6 years plying their trade in the VFL, play a handful of games and be delisted.

Heard on SEN yesterday that Richmond and North have the first option on picks for the US candidates. According to Shifter a lad from Africa is the standout athlete.
Shows some initiative from the club, which is a positive.

between 20 TAC Cup (youth) and 10 VFL teams X SANFL, WAFL, and throw in Qld, Tas and NSE - some 100 Ruckmen out there we cant find 1-2 yer year who might get up withing 2-3 years. Just a systematic failure to identify and recruit a decent agile tall ruckman into Richmond.

Gawn gave the Melbourne mids first class service last Sunday night. Our baltlers just jumped in hope or cemented to the gorund and hoped the other ruckman misjudged his leap... Poor ruck work, poor ruck coaching.
