Ruck - The most important position?

Really? I keep hearing this arguement but who around those picks (12 & 16) in that draft has proven to be a decent player?
Seems to me the Cats read the (weak) draft much better than us and were more than happy to part with those picks for a player with talent.

Midfielders/key forward won Geelong the game. Ottens was important but not the most important. Certaintly won't be winning anything with an ordinary player like Maric though.

I like this Toots, that may be spot on.

Ottens work rate was again outstanding particularly at ground level.

Agree with your thoughts TOO. These players were available:
Post 16 - Le Cras and Van Berlo
Post 12 - Monfries

I also think ruck is the most important position in finals though not by much.

Sorry, but nick nat in our side would be sensational.
I think nick nat is a bit more valuable then the Vicks!

Nat went 2nd pick, Vicks 8, so why are we bothering with this highly hypothetical question. Vicks is doing fine, very excited with his progress this year.

Did he play that well in our losing teams with his 'outstanding work rate'? Nuff said.

Downhill skier......didn't lift in an average side....needs a great side to take him along so he can perform.

Sook.

Could have picked up Le Cras and Van Berlo later in the draft, Monfries is the best player in the teens but that just backs up how weak it was.

Shut up Jimmy Bartel, go and finish / or start celebrating your bloody third flag and Normie before you sneak in here and give the Big Donut a fourth flag.

What a load of rubbish. Ottens is one of the best going around. Several key score involvements. Notably, on the ground for Varcoe's first and Hawkins in the third. Absolutely thrashed Jolly and fed Selwood, Bartel, Kelly all day. V important player in three premierships. Hopefully we will be saying the same about Jack, Ty and Cotch in 2020...

Agree. Ottens has always performed in the biggest games. Downhill skier?? Jeez there's some real crap being posted by on this site.
