Round 9: Team changes against the poos & wees

Because they want to add another game to his tally by naming him sub. He could play and will if we need him, but a rest before Dreamtime will be good for him.
So he is not managed. He is dropped. Just call it as it is.

I don't think that is what it is. I think he is managed.

I suggested it a couple of weeks ago but Dimma has a lot on his plate and probably just got to my post this week.

Shedda is, what? 40? It gives us a look at what a fresh Septuagenarian Shedda might be able to do to a tiring opponent.

In: Nick Vlastuin, Dion Prestia, Bigoa Nyuon

Out: Shane Edwards (managed), Josh Gibcus (Health and Safety protocols), Rhyan Mansell (suspended), Sydney Stack (Round 8 medi-sub)

New: Bigoa Nyuon (Dandenong Stingrays/St Kilda Academy)
Great prediction, well done, that's exactly what happened.

After playing 6 cr@p games he's actually been a lot better the last 2. Would be weird to drop him now so I agree he's likely being managed.

It's a *smile* of a thing. Shouldn't have it. Everyone hates it.
Everyone hated the sub the first time around.

SHocking: But what if...we did it again?

Gil: Steve, everyone hates it.

SHocking: But this is different. Instead of the 22nd man, it'll be the 23rd. And only in case of concussion.

Gil: Brilliant.

Clubs: No.

SHocking: Fine, any injury. Just don't exploit it.

Gil (sotto): -too obviously.

Their ins better than there outs, Tom Mitchell only one of note out but he has got 30 plus possessions against us many times but has never hurt us.
I'd nearly prefer treacle in.

Interesting move by Sam Mitchell to “manage” Tom Mitchell.

It was pretty clear over the off season that he and the club didn’t see him as part of the future, and now he’s being “managed” out.

Reckon some angst is about to develop at that club as S. Mitchell starts making calls on some of their senior (and better ?) players. T.Mitchell doesn’t strike me as the sort of guy who’d wanna, or think that he needs to be “managed.”

Hopefully their wheels fall off and Saturday is the start of it.

If only L2 were still with us, he'd be able to tell us if this is the first time a Connor has been replaced by a Conor.

Gunston, Lewis and Breust is a better forward line than we were up against last week.

But they also should've been enough to beat the Drugs and didnt.

Surprised Ross missed the emergencies
Like to see sonsie as sub
They changed Ross’s role last week.. back to a pure inside mid role. Perhaps they want to get a block of games into him back in that position. He was excellent last week so can’t understand how he wouldn’t be in the squad otherwise.

I thought Clarko had something to do with the sub being introduced.

Think the difference is a managed player will be an automatic inclusion the following week as opposed to no guarantee for a return of an ommited player.
It’s essentially being rested and imho is the best possible usage of the ridiculous sub rule. Rest your players as the medi sub. Break glass in case of emergency.
Those wanting Sonsie or Martyn or some other young player to be the medi sub are basically robbing them of another development game in the VFL and consigning them to watching a game from the bench. Unless there’s an injury of course.
