Round 21 - the fart from a 15 y.o. dog games.

As I’ve said previously, we are seeing the start of a master coach’s career. He will go down as one of the best by the time he is done.
He seems to get kids on board very quickly.
He seems to motivate and play players on there strengths.
I liked him when he was our 2nds coach.

The Filth have recruited some handy, bargain basement players such as Lipinski, Carmichael, Nobel, Williams, Murphy, McCreery, Cameron, Bianco and Ginnivan.
Pretty sure they're all mid season, rookies or 40+ picks..........................................**** !!!

Hats off to Pies knocking off that pissant back to back Dees lot the press were lauding this season.

Clearly. But one can surely deduce from % a little more context from a side's ladder position.
What’s that saying “a win is a win” ?

And when you’ve had 11 of them in a row, sorry Kev. but nobody gives a f about winning margins. Especially when you’re coming from 17th the year before.

Let’s not get carried away. Let him win a final first and then maybe a premiership before we start making these comments.

The % column tells a bit more of a story. Again, not diminishing the achievement at all, it's been remarkable. But to say there hasn't been luck involved is a bit silly.
Spot on. Finally someone has called out the key indicator %%%. This tells the story and whilst their achievements to date have been remarkable, it is not a sustainable model. Time will tell.

Whether the sauce lasts or not, who knows. Hopefully not. What I do know is, they ain’t a “lucky” club. They’ve gone through the roof under Fly and Leppa and to suggest otherwise is petulant rubbish.
They have gone through the roof under fly, not suggesting otherwise, but they've had a bit of luck along the way in a few of those close ones. Every successful side has a bit of luck, we did, it ain't controversial.

I'm still not really sure what to make of the Pies. Their pressure was outstanding, and their slingshot from the backline at times was electrifying, but the Dees forward of the ball are a complete and utter mess. Their talls can't take any marks on the wing, should they have done that, then they would have won the game, but in that 4th quarter, the ball was just rebounding, as Ben Brown is probably the softest big man out there and they had no one else forward of the ball to mark the ball.

The best way to protect against pressure is to mark the ball. I still think the Pies will struggle against the likes of Sydney and Geelong in finals due to that.

I said it the day after Melbourne won last year's flag.
There's no Back to Back
And there's definitely No Dynasty.
That's a horrible forward line
I would *smile* off Jackson and I would ask for Marshall or Larkey to come over.

Pies are getting it done when it counts where as the Tiges have been unable to.

Do you really think the Tiges deserve to be 2nd on the ladder?

Did you see the way Collingwood played in the second half of tonight’s game?

Come on.
Especially the ferocious tackling, really making the Demons feel every crunch. Very tigerish, as we were in our flag years.

Dees miss McDonald big time.

Are they a lucky club, or just a vastly improved club ? Yes or no ?

That's way over the top. They finish top 4, maybe win a final and then next year settle back to fighting for a spot in the 8 which is where they really should be.

Thats exactly what they need to do. They need to build a forward line and need the talls to do it. Possibly the best midfield in the comp, but when you are under pressure from the opposition, you need your forwards to help you control the ball and to do that they need to mark it. Melbournes forward line can't do that. Its a complete mess.

When it comes to winning premierships, you still need to have at least one dominant key forward.

Go through the history books and they have all had at least one. The Bulldogs back in 2016 the exception.

Hate to say it but Geelong in the box seat here.
