Round 17 - the stuck in Dubbo airport games.

I'll add a couple more things.

Geelong sharking Gawn's ruck taps well.

That last goal to Geelong, the umpire calls play on while the Geelong player is lining up for goal - WTF? Learn the rules.

Another for the Cats by giving Melbourne no space, you have to close down Melbourne's space.

Easy to close them down at that cigar shaped ground. They are too slow to do it at the G.

That's 2 times in 3 weeks Elvis has ignored a team mate and fked up badly.
He plays like Southern football league footballer Elvis.

Tremendous win by Dad's Army at Meth Central.
Said at the start of the year, I only wanted to see one thing, first and foremost.
Melbourne to be denied a back-to-back.

Fair point and I was thinking that, but I think it remains the case that the harassing and getting in the way that Geelong did tonight was effective and is clearly a strategy to combat Melbourne. I'm sure this is well known, but pulling it off is another matter. The best teams are analysed, everyone knows how they play and will have some ideas on how to combat them, pulling it off is always the issue.

Of course, if you want to win the flag, you lose to Geelong in the H&A, beat them in the finals, and you win the flag. That would mean what? Richmond, Melbourne GF? But you have to position yourself to be the team that knocks Geelong out of the finals!

The story will still end up the same:

What are the actual rules with ground dimensions?

Geelong's is so different it should be outside regulations.

If not, some interstate team like Gold Coast should change Metricon to a square ground with a loop De loop in the middle.

Guarantees finals every year.

Geelong did something against us and even more so against Melb. last night
move the ball quickly , seriously quick
thinking they have recognised Melb.'s defense is very good if allowed to be set up
so quick ball movement is the way to go

in the second half against up they regressed to the chip chip chip
I'd say we have to be prepared for a different geelong next time we meet them
they will now believe in this new style and continue to hone it between now and the finals

Geelong continuing to win is reducing the likelihood of us taking a spot in the top 4 spot. very frustrating and means we will have to go undefeated from here on in. Our best chance now is probably overtaking Freo.

……

But I feel sorry for Pickett. Often see him get into space; only to be ignored.

Was just thinking, how many other Indigenous boys at Smelbourne? Is he really accepted and valued? He might be far better off joining the bros at Tigerland.
Said the same thing last night. He was clearly in better positions on his own and the “stars” just ignored him.

No chance, drop 1 game not 3 or 4 against shitt opposition Stkilda Carlton Adelaide Sydney and final chance was 2 weeks ago.
Make the 8 and pray we don't need to go to Brisbane. The umpires won't allow us to beat them
